Fantastic! That's exactly the watch that was needed! Other sport watch makes like Polar or Garmin will get in a lot of trouble. Apple Watch now is a fabulous sports watch. All you need. That is the upgrade I was looking forward to.

I am very much looking forward to a new watch announcement. While the new watchOS wasn't impressive at all, the hardware could come out of its infancy and offer a superb sports watch that you can wear with every sports type, and, most importantly, without your phone, e.g. when running. Together with extended battery live, Series 3 could be breakthrough.

This is getting more and more interesting. I'd love to ditch my phone during workouts, in particular running. It's my impression AppleWatch is going more in the direction of a sports accessory. If it included accurate GPS, I'd buy a new one instantly. 

I'd be really good to have a triathlon function, in which the Watch detects start/end of the individual disciplines and provides a detailed summary. The problem with the workout app in general is that it is very reduced. I always wonder how popular it is when there are much more interesting apps such as Runkeeper, Runtastic, Strava, ...
