President Trump mentions Apple's pending US investment in State of the Union address
anton zuykov said:frankie said:Of course he does. He needs to take credit for anything to stoke his ego, even though all of this money was already earmarked to be spent on regular employees, etc in the first place.
Where are the ACTUAL jobs? From what I've read Apple will now spend HALF of what it did last year on taxes, which is already a joke.
I love Apple products but give me a break.
You can’t really spin this, oh wait, no, you totally can... by mistake I tried to view you as a reasonable person, attributing to you the traits you evidently do not possess.. Please, forgive me for being so naive.
This is quite the interesting, unkillable lie that techie boyz like to spout off as proof of their political acumen, which is as legitimate as their contiuned support for liars and thieves like Assange and Snowden, when facts to the contrary have emerged. But of course, no one likes to admit to being scammed more than techie boyz who fancy themselves libertarians but are often just politically dumb racists who hate girls.
This tax cut is a payday loan scam that you people will need to pay back at 110% interest. Pay attention to mommy and daddy when they file their 2018 taxes next January, and they have a furrowed brow in a vain attempt to understand why their liability has gone up. But at least you have your iMac Pro they bought you.
Oh, and for the child who stated that tax cuts don’t cause deficits: now that’s someone who both doesn’t pay his own way in life and certainly didn’t think that when Obama was president. Definitely not old enough to know the deficits created under Reagan through those tax cuts **that had no subsequent increase in wages.** Everyone in Cuba knows this.
It’s a joy watching your country stumble and fall, as you all cheer it on. -
'Modern' iPad Pro with Face ID teased in Apple's iOS 11.3 code
rotateleftbyte said:I'm glad that I got a new iPad Pro for Christmas. TouchId is perfect.
I can unlock it with a stretched out arm while in bed. Just touch the right spot with the right finger. No need to look at it.
Sorry Apple, FaceID does not do it for me and I suspect that I'm not alone there. -

It is proven to not be secure. -
Apple working on new Books e-reader application, heralded by renaming in iOS 11.3 beta
Well, since a blog post like this is often fodder for a stream of “this is what they should do!” responses, here goes:
1) Better typeface choices. Whitney, Gotham and Sentinel may be tried and true, but there’s a reason for that: they work. Iowan and Charter are nice, but they’re fundamentally too weak for comfort, especially at smaller sizes. (I’m sure there are many who insist that only a sans-serif type is acceptable on a screen. San Francisco is nice, but it’s not particuarly strong in appearance.)
2) People may claim to hate skeuomorphism or any derivation thereof, but...support for taking notes with Apple Pencil seems rather overdue.
3) Margin and line-height adjustments. These have shown up a bit quietly but it’s limited and certainly not controllable by the user.
4) And yes, the iBook Store. Once upon a time, it seemed you could browse dozens of titles in a genre, but at some point, that disappeared and an abitrary limit took its place. You need to do a search on a title/author, rather than discovering it. Hopefully that’s part of the purported refresh.
And now that I’ve posted this, I am sure a breathless iBooks team will get right down to work. -
Rumor: Apple buying screens for 13" MacBook, could signal end of MacBook Air
According to a report on Tuesday from supply chain monitor DigiTimes, Apple has tapped General Interface Solutions for LCD modules. The modules are said to be for an "entry-level" 13-inch MacBook, allegedly due in the second half of 2018.
The report has very little actual data about a new MacBook model, and the orders ultimate destination may have been misinterpreted by DigiTimes.
