Case size is irrelevant. Yes, more accurately the Ultra has 7.39% more pixels than the 45mm design, due to roughly 3.5% more pixels in each dimension. If you're an adventurer off grid, you may find on-device processing preferable to no ability to process voice commands. There's more to battery life than just the SIP, too. Other components are perhaps largely identical between the 2 generations and could be responsible for battery life remaining unchanged.
