I recommend visiting a local Apple Store if you have one, to see nano for yourself and compare nano vs. glossy (with its anti-reflective coating) side-by-side. The bright lights of the store present a good challenge. Colors pop a lot more and text is definitely sharper with glossy. On the other hand, with nano I feel my brain relax and focus on the work at hand, as it needn't simultaneously struggle to separate content from reflections--it's rather like looking at a printed page.

uh-h-h, nope.

Because I'm a "general purpose" computing guy, IMHO the biggest improvement with M4 Pro is the number of performance cores, which is double that of the M4. This big jump in core count is new  and makes the M4 Pro much more of a Pro chip than with the first 3 generations of M-series chips.

Indeed.
And I would suggest instead making estimates of Geekbench performance by starting with Apple's claim of the M4 Max being 20% faster than the M3 Max. That would put single-core performance alone at roughly 3750, not nearly 4300. This jibes with Geekbench's benchmark chart for the M4 iPad Pro single-core score of 3664.
