  • Apple 35W Dual USB-C power adapters available to order

Many Anker and other charging adaptors do not have PD, instead they have what they call IQ which means that the voltage will not change and therefore they are limited to 5 volts and therefore 15 watts. So yes, 15 watts is better and faster than 5, 10, or 12 watts, but this is not considered fast charging.
I realize you wrote "many" Anker chargers, not all. The Anker charger I referred to (model 512 Nano Pro) supports what the company calls PowerIQ 3.0, which supports power delivery at up to 100 watts but can not be advertised or certified as "PD" because USB-IF doesn't allow any other standard in combination with PD over USB C. The charger does change voltage as needed and I've even used their 1.7 ounce 30W Nano II GaN charger to charge 16" MacBook Pros at a good clip (importantly only while the computers sleep!). This tiny charger is far more convenient to carry than lugging Apple's power bricks.

  • Under pressure from Apple Pay Later, PayPal improves its buy now pay later offerings

Pay Later is weekly over 6 weeks--barely better than a month and hardly worth talking about--which doesn't compare to 6-24 months.

While the pace at which Apple is returning to work seems too fast given the uptick in covid*, Goodfellow certainly had another job offer that he liked better and where he negotiated for more WFH. Any company trying to recruit top talent can use WFH as an enticement. For anyone who cares heavily about their work and legacy, though, the decision will almost always come down to the nature of the work itself.

*I believe Apple will soon need to respond more fluidly/pragmatically to the rise in covid. In just a few days perhaps, Goodfellow's WFH rationale may be moot.
I'm not convinced that Apple is being reckless in asking people return to the office.

They are not saying that everyone will be chained to their desks 40 hours a week starting from April 11.
Nobody said Apple is being reckless, but IMHO they are ramping up quite quickly in a rapidly changing environment: minimum 3 days per week in office by May 23rd. I suggested the company may be forced to change their plans within a matter of days. Covid cases have a habit of increasing exponentially with time, with the doubling time shortening with every new variant and sub-variant. It doesn't take long for the case load to get out of control. People just don't have a good feel for exponential growth and it's difficult to assess when a small error in the base of the exponent produces a large effect on the result.

  • Apple is switching its virtual Apple Cash cards to the Visa network

Converting the Apple Cash card from Discover to VISA took mere seconds, once I saw how to do it. It's not a setting within the Apple Cash card itself. At the top level of Settings>Wallet & Apple Pay, just turn off the "Apple Cash" toggle and toggle it back on. Afterward, when you drill down into the Apple Cash card, you should then see it's on the VISA network.

  • New York Apple retail union organizers are asking for $30 an hour

$30/hr is ridiculous for a retail worker. Here’s a radical idea. Apple Store workers should be paid on a draw+commission basis. No sell, no eat that week. That’s how I started (in1977) out selling musical instruments in a mall store. I got what was known as a ‘draw’ salary every month that went against any commissions I made in sales. My draw as $750/mo so if I sold enough product to earn $1000 in commissions I got $750 a draw check + $250 commission check. If the next month I only sold enough product to make $500 in commissions I still got my $750 draw but was now $250 in the hole so the following month I had to sell enough to make $1000 commission just to break even. Quite an incentive to work hard and sell, sell, sell. It quickly separates the men from the boys (and the women from the girls).

But somehow I think the entitled little pricks today would think that’s slave labor or something. They want $30/hr? For what? Standing around and showing people where the iPhone cases are? Trying to explain to some idiot why their iPad screen will cost money to repair because they dropped it and don't have AppleCare?
The lack of commissions is one of the great features of Apple stores. Steve was very clear about wanting this model at their introduction. There's nothing like a sleazy sales person paid on commission--you can't trust anything they say.

$30/hr is not a whole lot for anyone working in NYC, even if they don't live there but must commute.
