  • Compared: Apple's iPhone 11 Pro Max versus the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and 10+

While the iPhone 11 Pro Max has just 4 gigabytes of memory to work with, its six-core
A13 Bionic therefore needs all the help it can get from the Neural Engine to properly compete.
Geekbench and most other benchmarks do not utilize or test the Neural Engine.
Apple's processors win because Apple jumped to 64-bit ARM design and SoC implementation with the iPhone 5S, at least 2 years ahead of when everyone else was planning to do so. The competition called 64-bits a gimmick, because they were caught flat-footed. And they're still working to catch up. The A13 wins on its merit, not because of some odd behavior required to "properly compete."

iPhones receive first-class support for iOS for at least 5 years. How does Samsung compare in this regard with Android?

  • Hands on: Titanium Apple Watch Edition Series 5 is worth the extra cost

Outdoors, in daylight, reflections off the glass face of the aluminum watch are enough to impair legibility of the always-on display quite a bit. I can't imagine the more reflective, less transparent sapphire face on the premium watches will be very legible at all. I love the look of the Space Black finish, but the weight is unsuitable for sports. The titanium models are not much lighter (which is of course a qualitative assessment ;-).

Pretty sure the watches are mislabeled in the penultimate photo. The middle watch looks like the shiny surfaced Space Black stainless steel, not aluminum.

Between titanium and aluminum, which is the bigger fingerprint magnet?

  • Phone numbers of nearly 420M Facebook users exposed online

Whatsapp is owned by FB and will do nothing for a user without full access to contacts. Android users gave permission to access contacts by merely downloading the app. iOS users had to give explicit permission, which millions did. While you might have denied Whatsapp access, it's very likely one of your friends or relatives authorized access and gave FB your information.

  • Facebook plans to launch new experimental apps under NPE Team name

Google does this, too. The reward is that, with just a small fraction of the population sucked into using dead-end apps, the developer learns a lot about the population as a whole.

You might avoid using WhatsApp because it demands access to your address book, but one of your friends or acquaintances is a sucker for it, so now WhatsApp (and Facebook) have your contact information. That's just easy one example. Other ways involve the use of statistics to characterize our behavior.

  • First look: Mac Pro and Apple Pro Display XDR [u]

2 TB RAM may be the theoretical maximum, but 1.5 TB will be the practical maximum. With 12 DIMM slots, 1.5 TB will be achieved with 128 GB DIMMs.  To reach 2 TB, 196 GB DIMMs would be needed, which will be rare/nonexistent.
