  • Sports Illustrated shares NFL gameday photos promoting dual-lens iPhone 7 Plus

I don't know much about this stuff and my vision stinks too (I need glasses to find my glasses.)  Can you all tell the difference between these pictures and "what would have been" with the iPhone 6+ camera?  I'm not criticizing or anything, just asking for your opinions on how much difference the new tech really makes here.  Some of you really know and care about this stuff.
Well from what I can ring out of the iPhone 6, these look to be much much better. Though these are tiny ~170 kb, opening them in Snapseed reveals:
Vastly improved highlight and shadow detail.
Vastly improved edge accutance with better sharpening.
    Better gamut.
    Much wider dynamic range.
Greatly improved signal to noise ratio.
And bigger file sizes of course...
Its a whole world of difference really.
I'm expecting great things with raw based on these samples.
I prefer the smaller 7 size wise but these could convert me.

  • Editorial: Apple's AirPods, iPhone 7, Series 2 Watch out... journalists

I think I found the nadir of 'tech' reporting...

Mind you, the Torygraph has always had a hard on for anti Apple flummery.

  • How the Apple Watch Series 2's 'swim-proof' technology works

Swim-prrof probably for people that stick their hand out of water. I can test that for Apple while snorkeling and taking shallow dives in Carribean see. Let's see how it stands up to very salty water and 5-10 feet depths. I know that sock Swiss Army takes at any time and as many times you want. After all they test seal with pressure check during service. So far I consider Apple watch as gizmo that perhaps one cay lay onto wet pavement (not drop) rather than stylish yet rugged watch for real situation use (no I do not consider city jogging real use - that is urban use).
    What a bizarrely entertaining post.

  • IDC: Apple Watch loses ground as 'basic' wearables boom

    Breaking....
"According to a frac AI survey, IDC has suffered a precipitous fall in the 'credibility' catagory of market trend reporting and a shocking rise in it's irrelevancy index rating"

  • Tim Cook responds to $14.5B EU tax bill with open letter, says decision will be reversed

The simplest response would be for the US to state that Brussels appears to prefer to engage in economic warfare rather than economic cooperation then pull our TTIP negotiators to work on a post-Brexit trade deal with the UK.  Given that TTIP is likely dead anyway a unilateral withdrawal sends a significant message without any long term repercussions.

That would give the UK economy a big temporary boost and a richly deserved middle finger to Brussels for being total putzes.  They would have benefitted under TTIP more than we would have.
A unilateral withdrawal would do nothing to anything. The fevered atmosphere in Europe regarding powerful international companies, means there is zero chance of TTIP being implemented anyway. Big corporations being granted the power to sue governments for lost profits if tax laws inhibit said companies retroactively? Sound familiar?
