Until they come up with a solution for that, any migration will have to be slow. -
Apple now blocks iOS app backups, but you can do something about it
Fortunately the article is wrong, though it did cause a moment of panic.
iCloud Backups do include Messages and Photos unless you have iCloud Messages and iCloud Photos enabled, in which case they are already stored on iCloud - from the support article that should have been linked:- iMessage, text (SMS), and MMS messages
- Photos and videos on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Similarly the other "unincluded" data are synced to iCloud or another source. -

jnsail said:Also, there is an extraordinarily dangerous problem. If one is using Maps (or Waze or Google Maps or Escort etc) while driving and answer a phone call (or make a phone call), the phones will not return to Maps at the conclusion of the call. The phone goes immediately to sleep. Fiddling with face ID and I'm not driving dialogs to get back to Maps whizzing along a busy interstate is not safe. I really think that Apple is hugely exposed to potential liability on this issue - a huge problem.
If you are stupidly "Fiddling with face ID and I'm not driving dialogs" on the road, that is on you and perhaps you should reconsider driving until you understand that. I certainly don't want to be on the road with you.
