  • Apple seemingly ends support for 32-bit devices with iOS 10.3.2

I doubt this "temporary" withdrawal will survive into the final 10.3.2, unless Apple's support line operators are lonely and desperate for screaming phone calls. I suspect it is a warning shot, though, and that come June we will be told that iOS 11 (whenever that comes out, generally in September) will not support such devices. In the short term, this means very little to end-users: if iOS 11 doesn't support their device, they'll just carry on using iOS 10 for a while longer. It's not like apps will instantly become obsolete. What does disappoint me is the large number of developers who appear to be abandoning their old apps. Maybe they'll update them, but there's quite a few I still enjoy playing or use and would hate to see them disappear outright. Of course, I'd also hate to see them just replace those old apps with new ones that you pay for again, but given the low price of iOS apps generally I'd pony up for the ones that were worth it to me.
I generally agree with developers taking a new (paid for) version out if it has massive changes. Someone has to pay for that work. However, it often is a bit Sketchy... especially with some apps over 60 bucks...

  • Apple mulls joining reported SoftBank-backed investment in Didi to avoid dilution of exist...

I still think Apple would be wise to focus on scheduling, dispatch, mapping/routing, and load balancing of fleets within each geographic area, leaving the liability risk of autonomous driving mode in the hands of the individual vehicle makers.
If I had a choice, I'd go for car modules. Apple does the "inside" (UI, UX, etc) and the looks, and the car makers build the skeleton around it. Rich people get a Mercedes enclosure, less rich people get a Opel enclosure. Ideally, no Samsung modules allowed...

  • First look: Lightweight Nike Sport Band is now sold separately from Apple Watch for $49

Seriously I never heard of anyone paying $50 for an $18 watchband. Apple could start a casino and charge $100 just to get in and lose your money, and the lines would be a round a dozen city blocks nearby.
$18? How do you get that value, not that I'm complaining because you people typically claim it's "35¢ worth of rubber" and other such nonsense.

I'd even say that $18 is likely much higher than what it cost to manufacture an accessory product being sold for $49.

That's an excellent link, especially if you take into account that Apple has various lines and costs are distributed all over.
Costs for currently "low volume" items, which might be the Watch or the AppleTV or the linkband or the MacPro depending on your viewpoint are likely paid for through higher margins in other items. Excellent world coverage (there are so many Apple Stores nowadays) and tremendous customer support also are expenses that have a non-negligible cost... as DELL knows well.

They will all get better. Tapping out letters on a keyboard will eventually seem quaint for most input.
A full open space of people talking to digital assistants. Hell is nigh.
