A questionable manufacturing schematic emerged on Thursday, offering perhaps the first glimpse at 2019's flagship iPhone.

  • Facebook issues memo on Apple Enterprise Certificate fiasco as employees vent frustration

That’s funny. I thought Apple only revoked the certificates used for their VPN App - not all their certificates including ones they use for internal Apps.
I think this time they used their internal Enterprise certificate, and paid customers to install apps using that certificate. So Apple enforced its agreement.

  • Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone 17 years ago today

You are so right. Schmit is a scumbag of the first order! What he did to Stevo was unconscionable!
That is the kindest thing I’ve heard about that piece of Schmidt. And what a creep too! He was good at hiding it if he managed to fool Steve.

  • Long-time Mac accessory vendor OWC acquiring Akitio

OWC’s service and support is really good - they do stand behind their products and that’s why I keep going back to them.

  • Cook promises Apple will 'learn' and 'take action' in memo to workers

They lost price discipline. Ahrendts gained too much influence and appears to have convinced Tim that they could go full out fashion house pricing strategy “we priced super high so people that want spend a lot can”.

hopefully that’s a lesson Tim learns. Let Angela run the stores, let the professionals run the business.

I guarantee you Angela Ahrents has no involvement in setting iPhone prices. I doubt Jony Ive does either.

I also find it interesting that when Tim hired Browett to run the stores, a guy who was well known for being a penny-pincher, who then did all these anti-employee things which caused Apple Store employees to quit, blog, or try to form unions, that after the goal of cost reduction was achieved, Browett was fired, issued an apology, but it’s not like Tim went back and reversed those policies.

So, Arhendts recently made some very public announcements about her being “non-technical”. Around the same time, the prices of all the products shot up. How much do you want to bet that when Apple more or less realizes that their “innovative” pricing is bullshit, then she becomes the fall person? It’s not like the public knows that head of retail doesn’t set prices! But it’s great to have a scapegoat if you’re incompetent!

I am certain that she doesn’t set the prices, nor does she issue directives on cost versus profit.
