  • Compared: Apple Music vs Spotify in 2022

This article, and the comments, miss what truly is the most important aspect. Spotify pays absolute peanuts. I mean, nobody is getting rich on streaming revenue alone, but I'd like the musicians I listen to to be able to afford to continue to make music and appreciate that Apple pays something like three times as much per stream as Spotify does.

  • It's time for Apple to revisit these iconic products

I hate the MM. Even when it is charged and connected, it’s a twitchy, finicky POS. Another in a long line of Apple POS mice.
Never understood all the hate. It’s simply the best mouse I’ve ever used, supporting smooth scrolling side-to-side, plus gestures without the need for a bunch of cumbersome and unsightly buttons.

I switched from the battery powered version to the rechargeable version when it came out and use it every day. I have another that lives in my backpack for when I travel. Never once have I ever been inconvenienced by the charging port living on its underside.

To each their own, but I love the MM, just as I liked the Mighty Mouse before it.

  • macOS Monterey 12.3.1 now available with Bluetooth & external display fixes

Apple says that macOS 12.3.1 includes fixes for USB-C or Thunderbolt displays not turning on when connected to a 2018 Mac mini as a second display.
Here’s hoping it’s not just on the 2018 Mini. My USB-C portable monitor no longer works with my 2019 MacBook Pro either. I have to connect via hdmi and use usb-c to power it taking two of my ports now instead of just one…

Guess I’ll find out tomorrow when I install it… 🤞

  • Russia's top tech giant is harvesting data from millions of iOS users

It really isn’t any different than Google and Facebooks use of their servers to steal my personal data but it would be nice if the App Store identified where data actually goes.
Actually, there’s a huge difference between this and Facebook and Google. If you sign up for, and/or use Facebook or Google, you know your data is being harvested by them. You also know how to stop this from happening-you stop using Facebook and Google. We have no idea at the moment which apps may be using Yandex to harvest our data, and it may be a little harder to ditch some of those apps once we find out which they are.

  • Netflix wants to crack down on users sharing passwords

Assume this will be based on IP addresses? My daughter is in another state and is sharing our family account. I’ll be moderately annoyed if we have to pay extra for her.
