  • Apple TV+ ranks low in streaming industry surveys despite market boom

I think the foundation series has to work. It is does it will draw lots of people, well people with iPhones and so on.

The idea here should be to push the Apple TV as well.  I think it would work if smaller.

  • 'Ted Lasso' nominated for three Critics Choice Awards

It’s a good show but I feel Schitts creek will take most of the gongs.

  • Bug in macOS Fast User Switching logs out M1 Mac users

It used to be a fabulous system, but now the coders in that department are clearly asleep.
Sounds like they're missing some regression tests in that area.  Automation catches these things far better than people can.
This feature is particularly hard to test automatically though. The first account is switched out. The next account is switched in.  Anything running in the first account is suspended ( I suppose) and communication isn't easy. Its the kind of thing they do need to add to a test suite though. I never use fast user switching even though I have an account for the wife on my personal MacBook Pro, and she uses it. She just logs me out and her in, and vice versa.

  • Kuo: Redesigned MacBook Pro models with MagSafe, no Touch Bar, more ports coming in Q3

The TouchBar was meant as a substitute for touch screen displays.
Apple not only lost that battle but, the industry has already moved on from that primitive configuration.

The future is in 2 in 1's.
My 8th grade grandson needs either a 2 in 1 or both a laptop and a separate tablet if he is going to complete his school work.
A MacBook can't do it by itself and neither can an iPad do it by itself (although it can come closer!) -- and that's for an 8th grade student!

It's yet to be determined if the iPad will fill the role of the 2 in 1 or if it will be the MacBook -- or maybe a brand new third product.   But Apple has fallen too far behind the times and, one way or another needs to catch back up.

Not going to happen. Two totally different paradigms.

  • Microsoft plans to replace Outlook for Mac with web-based version

Big pity there. Outlook for Mac is pretty good as it stands now. Web versions are generally worse, progressive or not.

In general this kind of thing is for the comapany's benefit not the user. Cheaper JS developers and fewer of them needed.
