  • Apple's Mac mini now inexcusably getting trounced by cheap Intel hardware

Four and half months - almost 150 days into the year - and all Apple has released is a cutdown iPad.
If that is not failure I do not know what is?
Apple has become a utility company.
This never happened when Steve was here...NEVER! /s
Macxpress, thank you for posting something that was well-thought out, on point, and contributed to the discussion! And I’m not being sarcastic. Thank you!

  • Schiller says Apple & Adobe working on 'really amazing technology' for iPad Pro

Can you get Adobe CC subscription on iPad? Because that'd be the real reason Apple is playing so nice with Adobe. I really dislike the adobe subscription tears, because I don't use the suit enough to justify cost. On the other hand Adobe seems to be copying a lot from Affinity, a company that was born from developing creative tools for the iPad and sell great products fairly priced. That's why I think is a bit sad Apple ended up working with Adobe, just making is stronger and letting them charge whatever they want; instead of supporting a smaller company which would benefit the industry and consumer a bit more.
Neither of these companies stopped working with each other. Adobe has had apps on the iPhone and iPad for years, and some are really good, despite the snark I read from time to time here.

like it or not, Adobe is the professional choice. Right now, they are the only one making software in their field that is professionally acceptable. These other apps are nice, but they’re just a shadow of Adobe.
I haven’t heard much snark other than you slamming anyone who dares criticize mighty Adobe. BTW, I am a graphics professional. Haven’t used P.S. since they dumped one-time paid biz model. And finally, there are competent image editing apps for both iPad and desktop. You should get out more. Or are you trying to justify the thousands of dollars you’ve spent needlessly on subscription fees to Adobe?

It's maybe just me but I'd rather pay for a product up front, have a few free upgrades and a year or two later have the option to pay for a major upgraded or just keep using the one I already have.
Them days is gone. No point in crying over it.
I don’t get it! Do you work for Adobe???
Why is it that when commenters in a comment section offer criticism of a major software company, other readers insist on calling them complainers or worse, taking them to task for simply criticizing a specific corporate policy???? Adobe’s policy of “renting” software sucks! Always has! The fact that more and more decent alternate photo editing alternatives are arriving on the scene means there is a huge gap.
In the meantime, Melgross, if you don’t have a point other than calling commentators out for criticizing, then stay out of the comment section! Please!

  • Where is Apple's innovative iPad, MacBook Pro hardware to rival Microsoft's Surface?

What’s the purpose of this editorial? Did someone recently write a pro-Microsoft article that bashed Apple? How about writing an Apple editorial instead. Like maybe one saying their laptop line is a bit of a mess right now and the MBA, MB and non-TB MBP should be combined into one device. Or with regards to desktops either update the Mac mini or discontinue it already.
What’s the purpose of your whining every time DED publishes a new editorial in his regular column? You sound insecure.
I hate it when posters accuse other posters of “whining”. That is what the Comments section is for. You are confusing criticism with whining. So let me ask this question: are you one of those who worships everything Apple does and blindly agree with everything Apple does?

Yes, a surprising article with some muddled logic (“locker room talk”? Huh?). And the tone is a bit dismissive of Apple’s recent troubles with the i9 processor. (“Non-engineer YouTubers”) Example: In another story published by AI, Apple actually worked with the “non-engineer” to apparently resolve the issue.

Most AI readers don’t really care about Samsung, Microsoft, etc. offerings, so why the paranoia? Is it to stifle legitimate criticism by AI readers on Apple? Methinks so.

And lastly, where is the updated Mac Mini? Cook promised and update. “It’s in our future” Remember. Which future?
    You lost bro?

I enjoyed this editorial piece. And despite your claim, we discuss these brands every week.

Please quote when Cook said they’d get you a new mini by. Thanks.
Not lost, dude! So why write something snarky about a fellow poster? I’m glad you enjoyed the editorial. Does that mean I can’t post a dissenting opinion without the snark? And just Google “Cook” and “Mac Mini” and you’ll find your answer. I’d love a new Mac Mini.
