So it doesn’t have the flat edges, as the rumours suggested

Ya, I like this look much better.  Flat edges would have been weird.  Love to see the leekers get it wrong!

  • Edward Snowden calls Apple CSAM plans 'disaster-in-the-making'

Just because other big tech is already doing this doesn't make "Apple is just late to the party" argument right.  I've always stuck with Apple, and have never considered switching platforms for many reasons, but privacy is my #1.  I can live with tech that isn't as cutting edge as other companies.  Yes I miss the fingerprint reader, I would love a high refresh rate screen, or a super zoom lens, but Apple's stance on privacy trumps those things I don't have on an iPhone that I could have with another device.  But this is a step too far.  There's the question of giving up your rights for the good of society.  Once we start giving up our freedoms for the sake of protection, where does it end? If they can do this with CSAM material, what's to stop other types of material in the future?  Sure Apple will say no, but who knows what 10 years in the future would bring?  Once the technology is introduced it can be changed at any time. What if China says "you need to flag and identify any people in our country that has these 100 images on their phone, or we're going to cut off all sales of iPhone in our country".  What would Apple do then?  Risk the sales of millions of iPhones or concede to the demand? I highly doubt it. Snowden is right, this needs to stop now.

  • Informal Apple survey shows 6% wage gap between men, women

You could have one non-binary employee out of 500 "regular people" making $90k a year, while the average of the other 499 make $95k a year (and there are going to be some rock stars in that other 499 that bump up the average) and your survey results will state that the non-binary employee is underpaid.  That's how this shit works and is not representative of how the real works.  Quit your moaning and get back to work.  If you don't like your job, find another company that will pay you what you think you're worth.  That's the advantage of a free market and what makes America so great to live in.

  • Peacock had 42M signups by late April, but most don't pay for service

I'm a huge Tour de France fan, and in the past I would pay $60 for an annual subscription to NBC Gold just to watch the 3 weeks of the tour.  Now that it's on Peacock, I've pay $5 for 1 month to watch and then probably another $5 if they have more olympic coverage.  Then I'm done until next year's tour.  Can't find any content on the service that's worth keeping on a continuing basis. Thanks for saving me a little $ NBC.
