    It looks like some rumor site wants to add a little history to itself by buying the name AppleInsider. Smart move, I guess, since we have quite a few readers here already, it's like intarweb free agency.



    And a tip to Slash (of G'n'R fame?), it's "formerly of blah" not "formally of blah".



    Here's hoping the new masters keep the current look, don't know if I dig their scheme and I certainly don't like the name "slaptech".

    well it's means that the executive head of the Staff is now Kasper Jade (if my memory is good he use to make article in the old AI front page) and not any more Gorgonzola.



    I have absolutely no clue, if this will change something in the administration of these forum. Perhaps the new head will help us, more than in the past.

    This must have been the long rumored vBulletin change. I guess this means we can't go over to MacNN and bitch like crazy when AI goes down. Damn, I liked that. Oh well! Why don't they just use the AI name

    SlapTech wants to become a rumor site, MacNN wants to get rid of its rumor wing to make Apple happy (those stale sandwiches in the press room are very tempting). AppleInsider has a fairly decent audience and certainly has a track record of breaking a few stories.



    Our little cocoon has been invaded by the demons of reality and economics, FIE!



    Let's hear from some of the new head honchos!

    Matsu, silly man, read the front page. They are going to take the name AppleInsider, why else do you think they would bother "acquiring the rights"?



    Hopefully this means the forum administrators (here's hoping they remain Jon and Amorph (well, at least Amorph )) have better access to the dirty underworkings of the boards so we can get problems fixed faster.

    Sucks to be you, all that work for nothing... sorry man. I'm not sure, I remember NFN met a huge backlash from 'MacNN'ites when they tried to buy MacNN (eventually scuttling that deal.)
