Whatcha Listening To? Thread v4
Paraphrasing Defiant:
Well, the old one is dead, may he rest in peace at page 23.
Time for a new one.
Currently I'm listening to:
1. Keane: Hopes and Fears
Catchy Pop kind of like Coldplay without guitars. Great melodies.
2. Faithless: No Roots
Best Faithless record ever (and it's hard to top "Reverence"). Mass Destruction is one of my favorite tracks of the year. A new raggadub influence added to their sound. The Dido tracks are weak, though.
3. Franz Ferdinand: Franz Ferdinand
This will endure as a classic record and FF are bound to be bigger than hats.
4. The Streets: A Grand Don't Come For Free
Even better than OSM. I'll probably tire of it, though.
5. Morrissey: You Are The Quarry
Best thing out of Moz's mind and mouth in at least a decade. But still not as good as the Smiths.

5 current cds in rotation
Sonny Landreth
Los Lobos - Good Morning Aztlan (gotta get The Ride)
Warren Haynes live at the bowery ballroom and town hall
Black Crowes - Three Snakes
Allman Brothers Band - their March run at the Beacon
On a bit of a harmony thing at the moment, so have been taking regular walks down memory lane with the Mamas and the Papas.
Latest Joni Mitchell and Kasey Chambers.
"The Cat's Meow" soundtrack.
And will be getting The Dissociatives (Paul Mac and Daniel Johns) album if and when I ever get near a decent record store again, purely on the basis of having loved "3000 Feet High" so much.
Sonic youth
Mia Doi Todd
Biosphere
Daily Show
'Memory' by Sugarcult

From the <a href="http://www.musicwhore.org/reviews/review.php?albumID=631" target="_blank">Highvision</a> release. They are a japanese indie/electronic band. Damn imports are so freakin' expensive though. <img src="/images/smilies/irked.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Grumble" class="inlineimg" /><br />

autumn sweater by Yo La Tengo (if you havn't heard it yet, it is an exellent band)
My favorite is Deeper Into Movies.
Been listening to Weezer a lot. Love Maladroit and the Green Album.
