Are we going to see a new iPhone this year??
Hi everyone,
I'm a UK O2 customer and my contract for the iPhone 3G ran out in January, at first I thought I'd wait until summer for the next model but with the iPad's imminent launch is it safe to say that Apple will be concentrating on their new product and leave the next iPhone for 2011?? What do you guys think? Shall I just get the 3GS?
Thanks.

100% guaranteed. They can't afford to not release new hardware...
...and set the bar for others to follow again.
There I fixed it for you.

All indications from Apple are that they intend to maintain June/July releases annually.

I'm sure you'll be glad to have waited a few more months.
I would suggest moving to the "Simplicity for iPhone -1 month contract" which gives unlimited Internet and texts for £20pm (300mins voice) all the way up to up to £50pm for unlimited mins voice.
Alternatively, I'm a low voice/sms users and currently very happy on my 3GS on PAYG on O2 with £15pm top-up giving unlimited internet, 100mins voice and 100 sms before it even starts using my credit.
As for the exact time frame, June/July is normal . WWDC is for June 28, 2010 so looks good
CTIA 2010 almost insures that we WILL BE GETTING a new IPHONE in 2010. Some of the phones are killers and APPLE can't afford to fall behind.

Well, they've already fallen behind.
