Would anyone mind telling me...

Why my thread I started last night (CET) about a law that allows attacking the Netherlands being in the US senate is nowhere left to be found?

Is this freedom of speech or what?

I could have least been alerted through email that it had been deleted like I was when some people chose to complain about my nickname to the editors rather than myself.

    Good question

it probably was one of the many FBI/CIA agents on the boards....

Perhaps it revealed too much . . . I stopped following it . . . maybe you can paraphrase what it sad and we can start it again . . . .

I was wondering that, too. Last I knew, Ronald Reagan logged in to criticize something I said. Then I registered as Walter Mondale to fight back.

Maybe that's why it was deleted. Sorry.

Maybe the server went nuts and they had to restore from a backup?

From what I remember of the thread:

macvasco: The US Senate passed a law saying they can invade the Netherlands.

Anders: I've got to have a link to that!

SDW: I don't want US servicemen going to trial at the ICC. Period.

ScottH: The ICC violates the Bill of Rights. Why don't liberals care?

BRussell: The ICC provides more rights to US servicemen than court martials.

BuonRuotto: Does the ICC only apply to military personnel?

Ronald Reagan: BRussell, that's the stupidist thing I've heard since I debated Mondale.

Walter Mondale: There you go again.

Ronald Reagan: Hey, I said that!

In all fairness, Anders posted something as a joke, but it was very offensive. He said that the Netherlands should attack the CNN and Coca Cola buildings. I'm as anti-American as the next guy, but this really isn't something you should say lightly to an American.

Well my reply wasn´t exactly a joke (and I am NOT anti-american) more an attempt of sarcasm. Someone wrote something like "Yeah its about time we invaded the Netherlands. They are annoying to us" or something like that and my reply was an attempt to show how stupid an argument that was by turning it upside down. I hoped someone would comment my post so I could make a follow up but nothing happened and when I checked back the thread had gone.

I mailed the mods 3 am AI time and explained the situation to them. I don´t know if it was removed because of me or what. I haven´t heard anything definetly from them yet. AI UBB sometimes screw things up so it could be a technical thing.

Don't go jumping to conclusions that your civil rights were somehow impeded.

Anyway, I was in the middle of posting to the thread last night, and when I clicked to submit my message, it posted it in the thread about Red Bull commercials. No idea why or where the other thread went, but it might have had something to do with my post.

I never took Anders' comments seriously. I was going to post a cartoon of Elmer Fudd with rifle in hand, saying, "It's Dutch hunting season!" Well, I though the whole thread was pretty much commenting on how outrageous the idea of invading the Netherlands was, and I read Anders' comments as being deliberately absurd to this point. I didn't think it was offensive, just silly like the other posts.

Whatever makes you think this forum is a democracy? It's a malevolent dictatorship, and requests for democratic action are likely to result in instigators being shot.

An investigation into the disappearance of the thread is in progress.

A very convenient technical error one might think. Especially since it seems to be the only thread that has gone missing.

    Anyway...holding my breath...

By the way, you´re missing the point by stating that you don´t want U.S servicemen to stand trial there. The point is that it is in an insult to pass such a law concerning one of your most loyal allies.

Oh, sorry. Forgot. The thread was most certainly not deleted.
