It should be ok. The server is different than the old one that used to die if more than three people posted in an hour.

Is it just me, or have the AI Forums been hit & miss today, let alone under the traffic they'll see on the 7th?

You're not the only one. This morning (around 6:30 EST) I tried to get to the forums for about 15 minutes and couldn't.

    less than 3%.

DOS attacks to ISP are the cause of the hiccups now. They will be resolved.
  • Reply 13 of 32
Actually at this moment both processors are probably at 99% idle.

When the iWalk insanity started, they were closer to 2%-3% usage.

Don't worry, MacAgent, I, and EmAn will do some hyperactive spamming if nobody else can bring down the server.

Let's just assume that the server can handle it. I doubt it, but just for the sake of argument.

It's going to be utter chaos in here. If you're staying open I think a good idea might be to have a temporary moratorium on NEW THREADS. Say, 24-36 hours where only mods (or people with more than 390 posts) can start new threads. Any registered member can reply.

I couldn't access the forums for 2/3 hours today. If that's what it's like now - imagine what it will be like on Monday.

Hope you have some backup plans

That was due to a full-blown denial of service attack on the ISP that also denied our server access for 2-3 hours. It was unrelated to server loads, which have never been higher than around 5%.

Unless i missed something i don't think there is a GC or SA (SV) available on the new AI....
