Harman Kardon's iSub subwoofer
I have the standard Apple Pro Speakers for my 15" flat imac. I would like to buy Harman Kardon's iSub subwoofer ($59) to go with the Apple Pro Speakers. Is that an ok combination? How does the USB stuff work with os X 10.1.5? Comments, problems, experiences, etc. Thank you!

The subwoofer sounds great, especially when the volume is high!

Pretty much anything in it's price range. The iSub/Pro Speakers combo isn't the greatest.
Edit: Here's a pic. They aren't all that pretty but they sound GREAT!

P.S.- Besides the iSub, you DO NOT have to spend a lot of money on a sub. Your speakers and the cables you use are a much larger factor to how good your sound will be.

Also, I wouldn't rate the Apple Pro/iSub combo so well if I didn't have OS 10.2. The bass control is essential!

Thanks! I was reading OS X 10.2.x doesn't hold preferences. Does OS X 10.1.5 hold settings, does it have bass control?
and no, isub volume control was onlt added as of 10.2. i never use headphones, so i haven't seen the weirdness others have reported (though i'd bet it'll be in 10.2.3 or higher as a minor fix pretty soon.

I personally love my isub and pro speakers. Not ground breaking sound, but decent, very decent as a matter of fact. And to let you know the isub never mutes, there is always a little output, unless you adjust the settings in the sound preferences. Overall though, it is not a bad buy by any means.

Sounds all good! I don't listen to music through headphones, I always use speakers so the never mute thing isn't problem. Headphones for some reason give me a headache. I think I am going to buy iSub after Christmas.
I don't use my computer for my stereo, so i have no issue with the amount of volume i get out of my set-up. When sitting at the computer...the pro speaker, isub have plenty of sound and feel to them.
Buy the isub Buy the isub
Sound quality would be far better this way.
