iPhone 15 USB-C will fix some problems, but create issues for most
I volunteer twice a week at my local State Park doing native plant restoration work in the field and nursery. Involves a lot of grubbing around in dirt and chopping through invasive plants. The iPhone in my pants pocket regularly gets tiny seeds, sand grains, and other debris in the Lightning port. I have accumulated a small arsenal of specialized tools to remove it. Hoping USB-C will make it better, or at least not worse. I know I could buy an expensive Otterbox type of protective case, but don’t want to have that on the other 90% of the time. A small easily removable plastic port plug would be great, but haven’t found one. -
Apple co-founder selling 14,100-acre property to The Wildlands Conservancy
I hope the sale to the tribe who had this land stolen from them was for a token amount.Too bad it had been a cattle ranch. My local State Park of about the same size was also a long time cattle ranch. Such usage destroys much of the native flora communities and allows invasives like mustard to replace them. Pristine parcels are hard to come by.Still, excellent news. -

Apple Vision Pro vs Meta Quest heatsets - how the approaches compare
Tried wife and I both using our AirPod Pros to watch AppleTV. Screen indicated that with two users using Pods simultaneously (sharing), that Spatial Audio was disabled. Sure hope that gets fixed with AVPs. Would be a bummer not having that cool sound feature when watching with others. Guess you could use on board speakers, but that would disturb others nearby who are doing other things. -

Apple's FineWoven case and Apple Watch band lineup may have been cut short
Stabitha_Christie said:I posted this elsewhere but I'll do it again here since it is relevant.
I am seem to be one of the few people that got a FineWoven case that isn't a problem. Got it with the phone in September and it seems to be gong strong. -
Reviewers say there's no need to upgrade to Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2
designr said:AppleInsider said:...but neither has enough to warrant upgrading.
Do these reviews always assume upgrading from last year's model? Are a significant number of people still doing that? I don't think most people need a review to tell them that there's not much point in upgrading from a Series 8 to 9 or an Ultra 1 to 2.
The real question to be answered is which series of Watch are you on that would make it worth upgrading? Series 5? 4? Later? Earlier?
What are your needs with the watch? Does Series 9 (or Ultra 2) help with those needs?
