Hmm. Some of this list just reads like “stuff the author doesn’t like/use” rather than failures as such. Ping is the only thing on the list we can all agree didn’t meet the mark and was quickly abandoned, some other things like Maps had a poor sta…

I’ve hung onto my 13 pro for another year and have zero regrets. I’m sorry but while there clearly are some improvements in the 15, they’re in no way worth the money over my already excellent, and basically faultless phone.

“It doesn't wrap the sides, but instead gives way to plastic sides. Those sides are slightly textured, mimicking that of the FineWoven material. They add a bit of extra grip without extra bulk.” Probably a minor point but according to ifixit’s tea…

As always AI falls over itself to defend Apple, but a reading of 5.4w/kg does not just “slightly exceed” the legal limit, it’s 35% higher. Regardless of what margin there may be between the legal limit and a harmful effect, ignoring it to the tune …

Ackerman may or may not have a case depending on whether there were fictionalised elements in the book that made it into the film - but it’s worth remembering that “the Tetris company” he’s suing is the legal entity set up by two key characters - Te…

This will just confirm I’m not upgrading this year. You couldn’t pay me to lug a Max sized phone around, and I’m not going to pay the “pro” price for a second rate camera. My 13 pro will keep gong another year until they perfect the technology and…

Really the “why” is pretty obvious - the EU ruling about a common charging standard. It means Apple have to adopt USB-C *unless* there’s another common charging standard they can apply. Enter QI2, a common charging standard that’s effectively alre…

Realistically this is by far the best watch and the best value for most people; really quite generous by Apple standards. The only annoyance for me is the USB-C cable. It has no practical advantage for this model (no fast charging) and just means …

I get the motherboard, it’s a real and genuinely rare piece of history you can actually look at that and possibly even use. Paying a premium for a sealed box makes no sense to me at all. Until you open it, it’s just a cardboard box which might not…
