WWDC 2016 rumor roundup: What to expect at Apple's June 13 keynote
> it would mean they wouldn't be using some of the new tech, like AMD's new 16nm GPU
AMD just released the RX 480 -- a Polaris-based GPU. "The Radeon RX 480 will cost only $200 when it goes on sale on June 29" AMD has previously claimed that Polaris was mobile-first, so I expect yields and chips to be ready by then.
> possibility of jumping Skylake and going right to Kaby Lake
No. That's not happening. Intel releases their chips (usually) in the following order: Y series, S series, U series, H series. The Macbook uses the Y-series (Core M) chips. The Macbook Pro uses the bigger, more powerful H-series chips. They also have large, integrated GPUs (HD 580) with embedded DRAM. The Kaby Lake version of that chip won't even be out until almost a year from now.
