President Trump mentions Apple's pending US investment in State of the Union address
SpamSandwich said:
Apple said their investment would “create” 20,000 jobs. They didn’t provide a breakout, but I imagine many of those jobs will be in the support community — app developers, construction workers for new facilities, etc. All good — I’m not belittling these —but many will not be “Apple hires.”

AT&T workforce stricken with over 2000 layoffs U.S-wide days after $1000 tax reform bonus ...
Layoff is not "firing."
Layoff = "not for cause" i.e., the company eliminated the POSITION
Firing = "for cause" i.e., the company terminated the INDIVIDUAL due to behavior or performance in the role
Yeah I realize that either stinks, especially right before Christmas.
I just ask that journalists not use "fired" as a shorthand for "laid off". They are not the same.

Apple calls on developers to update apps for iPhone X
Interesting timing for me: as a new developer, I posted my first game to the App Store today.
Now we know what the focus of version 2.0 will be!
BTW, the Simulator released in September was unbearably slow... as posted by many Devs online. I hope this new 9.0.1 version corrects that. Previous versions of the Simulator had fine performance, so something went drastically wrong in 9.0.
