Dual HDD/Attractive enclosures

Thread Starter

Hey guys,

I'm planning to buy a MacBook Air to replace my old MacBook. The problem is that the SSD drive in the MacBook Air will be completely insufficient to store my media collection (most of which is made up of lossless audio). I might convert some of my library to AAC so I can listen to it when I'm travelling but I'm going to have to use an External HD to store it when I'm at home. I'm also going to need a separate Time Machine disc to back up my media collection and Internal HDD.

My idea is to get two HDs, say 1TB and 3TB use the 1TB drive for media and the 3TB drive for Backups and put both of them in a single enclosure (two would be ugly).

Does anyone know of a source of good looking HD enclosures? Ideally, the enclosure would hold two drives, be quiet and look good. I really like the styling of these: http://www.g-technology.com/products/g-drive.cfm

Thanks!

I'd make sure to get a USB 3.0 drive to benefit from the faster speeds. G-tech have one but it doesn't look as nice.

I'd say either 1TB Seagate portable drive:

or Lacie 1TB portable:

along with 3TB Seagate Desktop:

The Seagate ones have the option to upgrade the interface to Thunderbolt.
