Newton Wireless Release 4

Thread Starter
I just recieved an 'anonymous' email from someone with a package which is supposedly the fourth release of the Newton 802.11 package.

The email says that the new driver which is not yet released allows the following:

Connect to hardware and software base stations
Added support for wireless encryption
Use different frequencies other than '3'
Added support for NPDS
Works with various Lucent cards including current Orinoco

The person also said that they know me from AI and wanted to give me a 'sneak peak' of the driver. From what I can tell, it's practically the older driver with some updated dates.

If you are the person that sent me this, can you please contact me at my email address below or with a personal message?

As far as I can tell, I can't get this to work with hardware basestations, and I can't use it for NPDS at all. It does, however, 'like' my newer Orinoco card, but then again, the other driver does also, to a certain extent.

Thanks in advance.

Fran, if you know it would you post the address for the wireless Newton project page. I think I have the second release and could use to see what the third does [I am guessing not a lot]. But hey, good to stay current, eh?
