iBank developer pounces on Quicken delays with rebate
Attacking Intuit's long-delayed update to Quicken for Mac, IGG Software has announced it is offering a $20 rebate to existing Quicken users who make the switch to its competing iBank software.
The "Why Wait Another Day?" promotion is eligible to users who purchase and register a copy of iBank between July 10, 2009, and Sept. 30, 2009. Customers must provide proof of purchase of both iBank and Quicken. Microsoft Money switchers are also eligible.
"We?re a little surprised that more of Quicken?s customers haven?t already switched," IGG marketing director Scott Marc Becker said. "iBank offers a better experience on the Mac, and a pretty straightforward process for transferring your old data from Quicken. But now there?s money on the table."
iBank is a Mac-only application written for Intel systems. The developer said the program works with iSight, iCal and Mobile Me. It requires OSX 10.5 Leopard. The company offers a free trial, and also has software available for the iPhone and iPod touch via Apple's App Store.

A little surprised? Try reading your forums and see why people are hesitant. Users like me have been using iBank since version 2.0, and the app still can't draw a chart to scale... THAT (amongst other things) is the reason more haven't switched.
iBank is a really nice app, but still has a long way to go... I even posted a video for them to show the difference between MS Money reports and what's possible in iBank.
