SGSS...from your name I assume you are a student. Are you paying for your own iPhone? Are you paying for your tuition? ..Snip..
For an education: I advise you walk around flashing your iPhone off and wander in to a rough neighborhood. Then you'll get a real education. Extra credit: Make sure you wear really nice clothing.

Yes. I paid for my own iPhone, MBP and tuition. Mac Pro is shared with my family and was a gift to me by pops. PS: Please don't be sarcastic and get straight to the point. Real education? Come on, I'm just voicing my opinion here. Get real.
You know, I'm going to agree with Ireland on this one. You're very much approaching snob level. If the only reason you bought an iPhone was so that people would look at you because you have one, then thats insane and absurd. And if you're posting on this forum, I would have thought it was because you like Apple and want the company to succeed. And to succeed, they need to sell lots of their products. So the more people that have iPhones, the more Apple succeeds, the more money they make, and the more they can improve an already amazing device. You need to get ride of your superiority complex and accept the fact that the iPhone is a great product and Apple will continue to sell lots of them. Which in the long run is good for the sake of the company and the consumer.

I do know that and I love Apple a lot. Thanks iPhone 91, but the problem is that yeah , while I may have to reflect on my snob level, I just do not like the prospect that people whine and complain when they get an iPhone and complain about it being expensive and stuff like that. That irks me. Maybe I did not structure my thread title properly.. Thanks for your time in posting anyway.

I agree with you on that point. It does bother me when people complain about their iPhone being expensive and not 100% perfect. But to me, I think its better that Apple sells iPhones to complainers than not selling iPhones at all. Because over time the price will drop, the features will improve, and there will be less complaining. But I completely agree with you that the complaining, especially when the complaining is coming from the media and the "developers", really needs to stop. Because most of the time, they aren't saying anything intelligent and just trying to generate page views.
But I think you do bring up a good point. I just think that the frustration needs to be directed at the right people, not necessarily the buyers, but more on the people who can voice their opinions to a wide audience.

Yeah. Thanks for your understanding. It's the complaining that really irks everybody, I guess. But sure, marketshare is nice!

Yeah. Sorry if my first post was sort of aggressive. Because I didn't mean to attack. I just didn't completely understand your point. But now that I do I completely agree with you.

It's OK. I just don't like people who go flat out and call others snobs without a single reason provided.. cough cough "Ireland" cough cough.. Anyway, you provided a reason and that helped me to learn better! At least there are some useful post-ers here like you.
I do try to back up my ideas. But I'm still fairly new to these forums. I like to think I know my computer stuff well, but I know my forum posts aren't always the best. So thanks for the encouragement. You did end up having a very good and meaningful point with this thread. I'm glad we could help clarify that point so that others could understand it.

the price will stay the same, they will just add more features every year
i like my iPhone but i can't help but joke that Apple took a cue from MS. any little problem and the magic solution is to restore your phone as new, just like re-imaging a windows PC.
and i always tell people that Service Pack 1 for my cell phone is coming this fall and that 3.0.1 was just a hotfix

The thread existing was reason enough. I can be blunt sometimes.

OK. Anyway, somebody pointed out to me that I was unclear in what my motive of this thread was so I have edited it in my first post.. Hope you don't feel offended and, sorry if you feel I have insulted you or offended you. Don't mean it if I did. Friends?

JeffDM I must respectfully disagree. It'd be instructive for SGSS to walk around the block proverbially. Best to do it late at night, SGSS.
I doubt respect has anything to do with it, you certainly didn't try to exhibit any.

Thanks for your 'advice'. It apparently went out of my other ear. Tsk tsk. Correcting someone else's opinions on a forum is worst at best.
