The JDL chairman and member who have been detain have not even been charged yet. You people don't know the concept of innocent until proven guilty? There are many people with terrible agendas who wish to silence Irv Rubin because he's a thorn in the sides of evil people. And the poster who stated the government took this action just to appease the Arab lobby is correct on that particular point.
Irv Rubin and Earl Krugle are innocent, which will be demonstrated at the trial. I appreciate all the Jew-haters for showing themselves on this board; it's nice to know who's who.
It is odd that after calling for everyone else to reserve judgment in a case that you go on to condemn unspecified parties as 'evil' and as having 'terrible agendas', claim to know that the actions taken by law enforcement were simply to appease 'the Arab lobby', claim to know the result of a trial beforehand, and finally, call members of this board 'Jew-haters.'
I honestly have no idea if they are innocent or not. If they are guilty they should be locked up for life. This country doesn't need lunatics running around. The reason I was so sure the report may have been false is because the JDL tends to talk a lot but not do much (in most cases, thankfully so). I mean wouldn't you think they would have tried to knock off Lous Farhakkan by now? What about all the neonazi groups?......................
Ah, people refering to them as "those jews". Like "those muslims" that crashed into the towers. or that "black guy" that killed Nicole Simpson. Labels.
I think that israel is the center of controversy because they are surrounded by intolerant hateful people. if you ask me, they show incredible restraint. If Iraq or Palestine had a nuke then we probably wouldn't be talking about the Middle east right now. Because it wouldn't exist!

Finally someone has said something that makes sense!
Oh, and btw Iraq is almost at the nuclear stage, not that it makes that much of a difference as they already have weapons of mass destruction.
Just to let you know, if the US attacks Iraq, and this time is aiming to overthrow Saddam, should the US become close to accomplishing that goal he will launch missiles equiped with biological and/or chemical weapons for Israel.
Once that happens, Israel will respond with a nuclear attack on Bagdad. Oh and FYI this is not just my reasoning.
If the Palestinians (not Palestine, there is no state, and never has been a state called Palestine) have nuclear weapons (say a Ramadan present or whatever from Saddam) and they try to attack Israel with it, they'd destroy themselves. The Palestinian territories, including the area of East Jerusalem would be destroyed as well.
They'd end up killing themselves. Sure, there are tons of suicide bombings, but the idea is there are still many more Palestinians to create their own state, but using nukes would mean there'd be no chance of that.
Oh and about the JDL, apparently they were created in NYC (from what I read) to protect Jews from Arab attacks or something to that affect.
All terrorists should be punished, but if all the JDL does is talk tough but not make any real threats towards anyway, then they're not doing anything wrong - they're not hurting anybody.
Remember, those two who are accused are innocent until proven guilty! I know that's already been said here but I feel that it needs to be mentioned again.
Let's say there was a hypothetical situation where the JDL had information that a neo nazi or militant Arab and/or Muslim group was going to attack Jewish targets, does that give the JDL the right to launch an attack, say at a building that might house weapons and so on?
Just curious what you people think.
There is a good chance this is to appease the Arabs and Muslims, but we cannon jump to conclusions. Just to let some of those who don't know, this Jewish militantism (if that's a word) is very rare, especially compared to Palestinian and other Arab terrorist groups and organizations.
This is way in the minority. And they were created (originally) for defence of the Jewish people.
Jews or Israelis who are jailed or questioned by the US for anything, whether it be for supposed terrorist acts or student visa violations, the US must be very careful how they treat them and how they investigate.
I doubt many of you heard about the Israelis who were arrested in New York after someone said they took a picture of themselves along with the WTC (after the incidient) and somehow thought they "must be terrorists".
Well, they were arested, and purposely kept with (from the story that I read) with Arabs and Muslims in prison who then beat them. The Israelis were deprived of proper food, sleep, and toiletry needs.
There was another thing that happened. A couple Orthodox Jews were praying (in Hebrew) on an airplane. Another passenger(s) heard them speaking in a language other than English, thought they must be terrorists and were scared. I believe the plane landed but I'm not sure what happened after that.
That, is Palestine was an area created after the dismemberment of the old Ottoman Empire following World war I. All of that area was simply under official control of the Ottomans, though in fact the empire was very loosely confederated. Britain established Palestine both as a Jewish state and an Arab one at the same time, between the wars, promising the land to both parties. There was a strong zionist movement in the world then, including in the UK, but Arabs revolted against the Ottomans and worked with Britain to dismantle the empire, thus getting the area as a reward for their cooperation. It was never fully Arab, never fully Jewish until 1948, when Britain gave the authority of the area to the UN and Israel was created.
Cleveland, OH also "detained" several Israeli students for visa violations, suspecting that they might be terrorists. What was their violation you ask? Selling toys to children.
Is it me or is the United States becoming more and more the "evil empire"?

They should notify the Police or the FBI. Then they wouldn't be in this stupid situation after all. Jerks. I hold these two with the same respect I have with Pro-Life Bombers. None.
By the way MacsKickAss, a lot of what else you said rings of some truth. I hope the tolerance is with the leaders too.

If the Palestinians (not Palestine, there is no state, and never has been a state called Palestine)

umm, not even close, Palestine existed until the creation of Israel in 1948
Israel seems to be the center of all the shite in the world these days.

These days? It always has been.

They have indeed been linked to other terrorist attacks.

Israel was created before that. It was taken forcibly from the Jewish people.
