Actually, that's not a real ad, it's a spoof done by a guy by the last name of DeFranco, but it's funny none the less (and I'm a PC User).
This was a great article --- I started using DOS at version 2.11 (after having started with CPM) in the 80's at the age of 13).... Geez, I actually forgot about Windows 386... and loved remember Window's first "Database" --- the "Notecards".
Good stuff, thanks writers and staff.
(OMG, a post from a PC user that didn't flame Apple? What's next, World Peace??). Heh.

According to this, it was a MS sanctioned ad, and part of its Better Browser campaign.
Is this a site about Apple or Microsoft? Even though I am an Mac user, I am happy that Windows 7 is turning out to be a serious improvement over Vista. This is good for my Windows using friends and the competition will drive improvement on the Mac side of things.
The computer industry is not a zero sum game and there is plenty of room for both Apple and Microsoft to thrive and prosper. The Mac can succeed on the merits of its technology without us focusing on the ridiculousness of Microsoft marketing,
Finding the best choice for your own tastes and needs does not require disparaging others.

it's funny we do talk about windows 7 being so great because it isn't a total waste of space like every other previous version of windows but my pc loving friend who bought a mac but then subsequently switched to bootcamp running windows xp, then bought a beast of a pc running vista with sp2 and raved about windows 7 beta has switched back to mac because of a) snow leopard and b) my insistence that OSX is truly flexible, powerful and just plain pleasant to use.

I'd like to think a consensus could agree that if a success of Windows 7 translates to increased sales of computers and related products, etc., that's a significant upside for our economies. Relevant to Apple's business model, I don't really see a meaningful downside. So, under the current economic circumstances, that works for me.
Let me ask you this, if you were the head of a company that had produced a variety of products, some of which were poorly received, would you "come out and admit that [your] product often sucks and has major problems at times."
Absolutely! Yes! Altho' I'd massage it a bit. I wouldn't use the word "suck".
Tell that to Ballmer... the ultimate attention whore
Balmer's jackassery doesn't mean we have to reciprocate. The drama and nonsense on both sides is a waste of time. It is fine to enjoy your toys but this level of emotional investment is better spent elsewhere.

Are you a moron?
1.) It is completely opinion based whether or not Microsoft products suck. Many people (me being one of them) would disagree with you.
2.) Do you honestly think that Microsoft (or any other company) is going to say their products suck?
1.) - already been covered -
2.) well, there's at least one: Electrolux!

Has MS ever put out a good ad? I enjoyed the ones with Seinfeld and Gates, but they didn?t sell the product well so I can?t call them ?good?.
RIP, indeed.
Is your name derived from the USA network show that often quotes 80?s movies?
No, I'm a psychotherapist. But I grew up in the '80's and could probably quote quite a few!
