At what age did you move back to the mainland?

I was just a little over a year old when we moved back east. My parents wanted to be closer to family. Dad was initially sent to Plattsburg, NY. We lived in a farm house and there was so much snow that you couldn't see out the windows on the first floor. He quickly was transferred again to Westover in Mass. After that, he left the service.

I lived on naval base there when I was a kid and my wife lived there for a time. Her teacher's aid from school is now a published author. My wife sent her a "remember me" letter and she pulled her old gradeschool photo from a box. Kinda cool huh?

Yeah, is that where you met your wife? Or were you both there at different times?
Yeah, there's so much military here, it's dizzying. Think about it, this is the safest place in the country right now, we're isolated and there's military at every corner. Ain't no way there'll be another Pearl Harbor.
Come visit Hawaii, it's actually quite affordable right now.

No. We were little kids then. My wife has the fantasy that we passed on the street only to meet later. We weren't even there at the same time though.
I think the military gets just about everyone out there at some point in time.
