i really find an app for the iphone to make appointment a joke / because no one follows the stupid appointment lost any way
There should be no need for such an app. Apple should staff its stores so that customers can be waited on within a reasonable period of time.
Don't get me wrong - the ability to make an appointment is great. But the requirement that unless one has an appointment, nobody at the "Genius who works at a Mall" bar will help you with a tech problem? That sucks.
The "Appointment ONLY" setup ruins the convenience of appointments, and makes them a roadblock. Instead, Apple should do what every other retailer in the world does: Adequately staff its stores for expected customer flows.

Is it really THAT challenging to so many in this forum to go to a website and set-up an appointment, so that Apple retail can in fact staff for the known times and traffic volumes they have?
Retails stores are constantly staff marginalized from a scheduling POV. There are few, if any, that staff so that any consumer can walk in at any time and be greeted instantly and helped until exhausted. The very few that do (Nordstroms comes to mind) have higher retail price overhead to compensate for having so many staff in the store to attend to your every need. Staffing costs money. You guys routinely gripe about the high cost of a Mac to begin with.
Of course I realize the the world revolves mostly around your immediate needs gratification, so the above is moot at best.

The question is irrelevant. The degree of challenge required to go to a boutique and receive adequate service should be zero. Do you need to make an appointment to go to Williams Sonoma? How about any other full-retail-price boutique in a shopping mall?

You seem to be focusing on discount big-box stores vs. full-service department stores. Apple occupies neither such niche in retail. They are a boutique. A high-priced, specialty boutique. Ad if the prices of their products are not high enough to support adequate staffing, they might want to reconsider their retail strategy.

Besides the obvious fact that Williams Sonoma doesn’t have the same number of clientele as Apple, the fact that one company sells complex consumer electronics and the other sell kitchen wares should be a clue that they aren’t exactly comparable. William Sonoma’s queues for returning an item you don’t want is not the same as Apple’s Genius Bar. It’s convenient to be able to make and appointment and not have to stand in line. It’s not convenient to be told you can’t make an appointment it’s first come first serve. You don’t exactly think in terms of customer satisfaction now, do you?

The company that makes more per square foot than any other retail store needs to rethink their strategy because you think they are too successful with their busy stores.

This is assuming, of course, that Apple manages to get this app through the approval process...

You really should think about your own attitude first, before calling people names like "commie."
Or perhaps that is a tongue-in-cheek New Yorker subtle inflection that I should become aware of?
