As a musician looking pick up second hand gear at a reasonable price, imo eBay sucks. So many times I have been outbid, which is fine since that's part of the auction process - but to see items sell for way above market value (and in many cases, they end up selling for higher than what it'd cost to go out and buy it brand new) is just ridiculous!
Eugene, by "EBay rules", do you mean start a discussion on eBay's rules for such auctions or are you simply stating that eBay is an exemplary instrument of the free enterprise system?
I picked up a lunchbox plastered with Syphillis warnings from 1930s-era public service posters. When I saw it, I was like "WTF?" But I knew I would probably never find it again, so I spent the $10. It was just too unique to pass up.
I now have a shitload of Fire Alarm equipment I really need to get rid of. Why I picked it up, I don't know.
rofl! That's ****ing hilarious. I'm going to start selling all the stuff I have lying around on eBay...I have a bunch of old pens and some apple cores lying on my desk...
I THINK THE GESTURE IS A BEAUTIFULL WORK OF ART ooops... had caps on and I'm too lazy to retype...
however, look at the bid history, the high bidder has only one comment and its about not paying and all the other bidders are recent masked changes/aliases.... they clearly will not pay.
noOne is going to pay for that, unless they are aNYC art dealer or collector
Comments
And the seller is right: It would make a great Fathers day gift. If only I had the money...

Who would actually pay that much for it?

Either someone very stupid, or rich enough to not care about blowing $120 USD on cardboard.

That's one use for the cardboard...

"It isn't square enough."
"I realized that I actually need an almost circular piece of cardboard."
