Cyber Monday roundup includes discounted Macs, VMware apps
Cyber Monday, the largest online electronics shopping day of the year, is in full effect, with a number of valuable discounts on Apple products.
Through Wednesday, VMware is offering steep 30 percent discounts on its line of software. The full version of VMware Fusion 3, regularly $79.99, is available for $59.99, while the VMware Fusion 3 Upgrade, usually $39.99, is on sale for $27.99.
In addition, VMware Workstation 7 has been knocked down from its regular price of $189 to $132.90. Similarly, the VMware Workstation 7 Upgrade, regularly $99, is available for $69.30. These offers began Monday and expire at 11:59 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Dec. 2.
Discounts remain on Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Home & Student Edition. Amazon, MacMall, and MacConnection are all selling the regularly $149.95 suite for just $89.99.
In addition, MacConnection is still holding its Black Friday sale, extended from last week. Buyers can save up to hundreds of dollars on a new MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini and Mac Pro. Strong discounts from Mac resellers are believed to have already led to booming sales for Black Friday and over the weekend.
Full details are available in AppleInsider's up-to-date Mac Pricing Guide.
Customers are increasingly turning to the Internet for their holiday sales: Overall online purchases increased 11 percent this year, while Apple drew 39 percent more visitors to its Web site on Black Friday than in 2008, according to comScore.
As reported earlier Monday, Apple is also running its own Cyber Monday promotions on some accessories. The company has discounted Dr. Dre-branded headphones by $30, the mophie Juice Pack Air iPhone case and rechargeable battery by $8, the Eye-Fi 2GB Geo SD card by $6, Vestax Spin DJ by $25, and a LaCie Starck 500GB USB drive by $15. Apple is also offering free shipping on products purchased through Dec. 23.

No black, no white, no purple- go figure?
That's 2 errors AI- $8 not $9 and red only.
Well, I guess I will wait for the update, which I hope will be 27"
I was hoping for a steep discount on the Magic Mouse. I guess it is not to be?
Dream on- Greedy Apple actually thought $5 was an amazing Black Friday discount on that $69 item. Can you believe them Apples?

how does it make them greedy to not offer large arbitrary discounts for no reason?
SO GREEDY
how does it make them greedy to not offer large arbitrary discounts for no reason?
Do you believe that ketchup is a vegetable?
It was Black Friday - that is a reason to offer a $5 discount? It didn't have to be "large arbitrary" just reasonable- not 8%.
how does it make them greedy to not offer large arbitrary discounts for no reason?
Yeah.. How dare greedy Apple offer the 8-10% discount on most of their product including the Magic Mouse. You know.. Apple is greedy and I am not cheap
1: Mac sales to fall dramatically
2: Prices to increase due to low sales requiring higher margins.
I for one will not be shopping at Apple this year, unlike many previous years.
My dentist took me to the cleaners for well over $4000 in the last two months.
He's going to Hawaii for the holidays, I'm staying home and praying for coal.
It's California liberal banks and the liberal Congress who decided in 2005 to take Freddie and Fannie into the hell of the sub-prime market via socialism.
Yea, Greenspan created the real estate bubble, but it wasn't supposed to affect sub-prime. Normally in real estate bubble's it's the rich who get caught holding property at the collapse who lose, not the middle or lower class who were promised a house they couldn't afford.
Nobody in their right mind takes a sub-prime risk, except socialists of course, asswipes.
Large tax increases and inflation are coming next year.

It's both cheap and greedy when Apple only offers the red morphie powerpack and not all the colors. This will be interesting to hear your excuse for this one. Take a big gulp first.

Is this the best shot? Stop contradicting yourself (greedy and cheap at the same time?
And I will give you my answer when I get your answer about why you wanted to buy the Magic Mouse? You have been bitching and whining about it the day it was released... hypocrite
After this holiday season is over, expect two things to occur.
1: Mac sales to fall dramatically
2: Prices to increase due to low sales requiring higher margins.

Clearly your dentist is a liberal too.
Clearly your dentist is a liberal too.
And a capitalist.
And a capitalist.
Yea the liberal capitalists are the worse.
They spend so much that they have to charge you extra to compensate, then when that doesn't work they leverage government to inflict higher taxes to force you to pay for their out of control spending habit.
Did the dentist work for the $4000? Sure, about a whole hour in total.
I told him next time I come, I'll bring my own lube and towel, and I expect a discount.

I need a new mouse - is that too difficult to comprehend? I haven't been "bitching" about the Magic mouse- just stated it had limitations. My Mighty's scroll ball is beyond cleaning.
Now what's your answer ( or excuse shall we say)?

That's not an answer to my question, that's an answer to "why you need a mouse?" and my question was "why you are going to buy Apple's Magic Mouse after all your bitching and whining?".. You know the Magic Mouse from greedy Apple who you keep bashing and buying their products at the same time..
Remember these statements about the Magic Mouse?
I simply refuse to call anything that I own computer related with an descriptor as inept as "MAGIC".
That sounds so retarded. Are they really serious? That name sounds like it belongs in Steve's barfbag of hurt.
Looks like a callus remover- EEeeewww!!! The PedEgg!!!
Form over function - the Jony/Stevey connection strikes yet again.
Propping up your fingertips on a mouse like a ballerina and using your digits to dance is ridiculous and not the norm.
Once you answer my question "why you want to buy the expensive Magic Mouse after all the bitching and whining above instead of another better mouse?" I will answer yours.

I did answer you- I want to buy it because I need a new mouse. And again you can't comprehend to replace something that doesn't work because of it's track ball with one that has no track ball? hOW MUCH MORE CAN I SPOON FEED YOU ANYMORE?
now where is your answer- why only red? why?

Again you are going in circles and did not answer my question, which further shows your lack of comprehension and reading skills. There are tens and maybe hundreds of computer mouses in the market but you decided to go with the one the you have been criticizing and bashing since day one. You even said you will never going to buy it (see the post above).
You are such a hypocrite.

No hypocrite - but you're a blatant LIAR.
I never said that in what's highlighted above. And you've yet to answer me. See- you've lied not once but twice. You are such a liar.
No you're a LIAR - I never said what's highlighted above. And you've yet to answer me. See- you've lied not once but twice.
You know just because you don't want to see something doesn't mean other can't see it. What you said is quoted in this page and everyone can read what you've said
