Also having grown up in DC, I can say that it has gotten a bit safer since that wonderful Mr. Barry left town. As for the 'bad' parts of DC, I feel about as safe in them as I do in many parttd of New York. You aren't as likely to get mugged as you'd think, since so much of DC crime boils down to fights between drug rings.



If you don't mind, where did you go to high school in the DC area? I may have encountered you at some point.

I also hate DC because it's squatty. Build a freaking tall building already. Who cares if it's taller than the Washington Monument!

I actually meant Jonathan, since he's in the same age bracket. I doubt that I would have come across you during my high school years, Scott.



I don't like the shortness of DC either. For the record, the ordinance states that a building cannot be taller than the Capital. With hope, major suburbs like Bethesda and Rosslyn will grow upward a bit, forcing DC bureaucrats to resolve the height issue.
