    FLASH: WE LIVE IN A WAR ZONE, PEOPLE.

    Watch the CBS March 10th special on the WTC attack for a refresher.

    Everyday, each one of us is on patrol. If there's an alert, just keep your eyes open. If you see something that strikes you as wrong , CALL THE AUTHORITIES.

    I don't like living like this, I hate the idea that my kids will grow up like this, but until we kill or capture them all, this is the way that it is.

    Innocent people are going to have their rights trampled; I weep at the thought of that happening here in our beloved country, but there is no alternative. *We will apologize and compensate them for the tresspass later*. In fact, someone should be working on a reimbursement schedule for that.

    I am not willing to have ANY MORE American children waiting, terrified, long into the night for Mommy or (particularly) Daddy to come home.

    Especially my children!

    On forms that ask for my religion, I always answer, "Objectivist", by which I mean, I am passionate about freedom of the individual and right of the individual to be safe and secure in their own person. I would ask the forebearance and patience of any American Citizen who is questioned by the authorities and, as an American Citizen, I DEMAND THAT ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONALS REMEMBER THAT IF THEY MISTREAT AMERICANS, THAT MISTREATMENT CAN ONLY BE INTERPRETED AS TREASON.

    Torifile is correct as is Scott H. We have to be vigilent in BOTH directions. Against Terrorists, and against those in Government who slaver to enslave us.

    IF.

    If, if, if....

    Kubrick and Clarke's 1968 vision of last year was completely possible. The world would be a much better place if we were able to visit Clavius Crater.

    By the way, instead of a Tycho Magnetic Anomoly, may I direct your attention to <a href="http://www.ENTERPRISEMISSION.COM/"; target="_blank">http://www.ENTERPRISEMISSION.COM/</a>;

    There are several Cydonia Visual Anomolies that you might find of interest. Given enough distribution, we might just get into space the way that we should have for the last three wasted, wasted decades.

    Aries 1B,

    First let me thank you for saying that I'm right It's the first time I've ever gotten someone to agree with me here on a political issue (not that it matters much, but it's nice to see that some people are willing to at least listen). But now the question is: where do we draw the line between vigilance against terror and vigilance against abuse of power?

    I'm just of the mind that the vigilance against terror is winning because it comes at the expense of a somewhat disliked group. It's ok to inconvenience people if you don't like them. It's easy to say "Go back to the middle east if you don't like it." My major problem with this situation is that this is institutionalized discrimination. It's acceptable because it's presented under the guise of "national security" and no one wants to be the victim of a random attack. So we'll take the rights away from foreigners and those who don't look like they belong here. And most people are ok with it. But that doesn't make it right.

    We can't take shortcuts in this battle. If buying teddy bears, propane and bb's is suspicious, fine, but investigate everyone who does it and make it known that they are being investigated.

    It's ok to do a background check on me if I want to buy a handgun. It's not ok if only people of middle eastern descent are the ones checked. Equal protection under the law. That's all I want.

    Thanks for the link, i am for a travel for mars and for a permanent moon station : perhaps it is the first step to the human travel for mars.

    I doubt that we will se an evoluate form a life on it, the face of the moon, is just a hazard, it does not prove anything, when you watch stones with some specific lighting you can discover human faces. This has been said a long time before.

    PS : for your ps : you dont owe me any apologies, there where not irony in that post, i just found funny that you wrote under coming , the crater of clavius (i love the film 2001, space odysseus : see it many many times)

    You have got to be kidding. You have clearly never seen a real war zone or anything like one or you wouldn't make that claim.

    The US have suffered nothing like what a lot of people have put up with for decades, certainly nothing like what innocents in Afghanistan have had to put up with. Don't claim America is anything like a war zone because the simple fact is it is a very far cry from one.

    I've been to Israel five times (1987-88) and I've seen armed soldiers patrolling shopping malls. I've seen attack helos patrolling the coast of Tel Aviv, looking for unwelcome guests.

    I now live in a country that is under attack and that is the target for a number of nations who want us out of their way.

    &gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;The US have suffered nothing like what a lot of people have put up with for decades, certainly nothing like what innocents in Afghanistan have had to put up with.&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;

    We wouldn't put up with it. We also have a vast array of Nuclear Weapons. If anyone screws with us, then they get a very warm response.

    &gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Don't claim America is anything like a war zone because the simple fact is it is a very far cry from one.&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;

    When our greatest, most symbolic buildings are destroyed, when 3000 Americans die in an attack perpetrated by foreign nationals, when our Congress is beset with Anthrax, when we have to worry whether there are explosives hidden in Teddy Bears, then we are indeed at war, and one of the fronts of that war is right here in the United States. It's a new kind of war, naturally the war zone (thankfully and so far) is different from the horrors that have come before.

    Specifically, I was trying to get everyone to be a little more alert. I was hoping to elevate the general mind set to be, not paranoid, but more observant. If you see something that strikes you as potentially threatening, then for the sake of your fellow Americans, TELL SOME ONE.

    The kids you save could be mine.
