Actually pigs don't root around in their own crap. Chickens do, but just about everybody thinks that's the healthiest meat going. Pigs have enough sense not to crap where they eat and sleep, but have somehow gotten a reputation for filth. Mud and filth are quite different. Lots of europeans pay silly money money to root around in the mud for a few days at a time, they just call it a 'bath,' 'wrap,' 'treatment' or 'spa.' It's all spin; Eat more bacon!

Almost 4 or 5 years ago today, California passed a law banning the sale of horses for slaughter. Talk about lame. It was interesting to see how the vote split in my family-- all the women voted for it. The men, against. Siding with the men of the family, I said government really shouldn't be involved-- or in short, I didn't give a damn about the horses.

I didn't mean to offend. In context to the proposition, I saw horses as private property. At the time, I figured they could be sold and traded the same way livestock are.
