Anyone wants to defend the actions of the "coalition" on this one?
ABC News is just reporting a story from a Danish paper which, I'd guess, is not a big fan of George Bush. So I'd put this in the "rumor" category, and gawd, let's hope it stays there. If something like this is true, it would completely hose the credibility of the US in that region for all time to come. The administration wound up having to put a huge political stake in the "democratizing Iraq" argument, and they need to follow through, no ifs, ands or buts. I mean, I can see the US "suggesting" an interim leader in the way they "suggested" Kharzai, but for god's sake he can't be a suspected war criminal.

The paper is in the top two of serious papers here. It haven´t been "doctored" in any way I gurantee you. The only way this is not true is if the former CIA guy is misinformed or is lying.
In short: This general, who haven´t been in Iraq for the last ten years, are the probable source behind the fatal "45 minutes" distraction.
This is a man who were under criminal charges for crimes against humanity, who wanted to raise to power in a post-war Iraq, who made all sorts of claims about his ability to control the generals in Iraq that was seen upon with humor.
Suddenly one of his claims was not marked as "far out and most likely a statement made not in truth but to save his own ass" as they would normally have been done but found its way into the british intelligence estimation on Iraq and even into the SOTU last year.
I second the idea of putting political forces into motion now, that will ultimately (say in a year or two) bring him in front of a War Crimes Tribunal at The Hague. Sending him back to Iraq is no different than just hanging him now. Maybe he and Milosevic can share a cell.

I think out of the ashes of Iraq, a Kurdish state should be formed. They deserve it IMO. Send this guy there for a well deserved trial.
Great, let's just make another state in the Middle East that everyone will hate. How about we give them nukes too?
Killed by angry iraqis
Sorry to hear that one of your boys had to go with them. But why did they see it as their job to protect him in the first place

Hook them up with the Iraqi Information Minister, add Saddam, and they can sing barbershop as punishment
