Unless you have a very specialized need, which you didn't articulate, mobile devices are all you'll need anyway. Wickedly fast laptops are quickly replacing desktop computers for many, many people and the percentage grows daily.
I recently read that Apple Inc has now captured 8% of the computing market share...primarily due to their mobile sales.
You're right...mobile is the future...and Apple is in the lead as usual.
Does any one have an idea of when the new 13inch mbps will arrive at bestbuy? Id prefer buying my mbp there since they still honor the student discount and will give me 12 months to pay without interest
it would be awesome if apple developed iphone os to the point where an ipad plugged into a monitor with mouse and kb really could replace a desktop entirely.
Then again, there's always the issue of porn. Are there any html5 porn sites for the ipad?
That's not an excuse for unethical conduct for a 'sometimes' news site that syndicates it's information and stories to other national news organizations. I've seen AI cited as a news source on numerous other news sites. You can't play journalist without adhering to basic journalistic standards. It's really not that difficult to make it part of standard practice.
As a matter of fact, AI previously DID start to identify these promotions as advertising, but this practice has disappointingly not continued.
Fox News is the only one permitted to promote their own agenda as news.
4th: Hinge is loose and display won't stay upright.
These are all brand new machines made in the 9th week of this year.
The build quality of the new iMac's is a COMPLETE and TOTAL joke. They are "Made in China" garbage and not even close to being worth the huge price tag.
What happened to Apple's quality????????????????????????
Makes me sick that Apple is charging a premium for complete garbage.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE NEED HACKINTOSH'S.
Apple is obviously only interested in mobile computing devices. Desktop mac's are DEAD.
Buy your laptops, stay away from the iChineseGarbage.
I can't get the discount to show up for the 15" 2.53 MBP at MacMall. Well, I can get 3% off to show up, but then I lose their discount. So it comes out to the same price, no matter what. I clicked on the link from AI and I see the $1872 price at MacMall, but after clicking Buy/Customize, I can't get the AI price to show up again.
I do want to add a high-res screen and 7200rpm hard drive, but that doesn't seem to affect anything other than shipping times.
Fox News is the only one permitted to promote their own agenda as news.
Not entirely true. CNN is an unwatchable cesspool of opinion these days as well. Walter Cronkite must be spinning in his grave so fast he looks like Taz, the Tasmanian Devil.

I couldn't get the Apple Insider 3% instant rebate to show for an i7 MBP17 purchase either... Was one click away from buying too...

I always avoid stores with a such low rating. But you can try and tell us your story, when (and if) you get your Mac
Any benefits to buying directly from Apple as opposed to an online retailer?
All the profits go to Apple?
