Have you seen this?

One word:

I like it! The choreography looks pretty good in the scene. My hopes are riding high. After AotC bombs I'll be looking for the Twin Towers and the Matrix Reloaded to pick me up

The movie footage was cool, though.

AotC I think will turn out most good.

Now The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers... Sweet Ass Sweet (Diabetic! - sorry NatR)

Yeah those sword scenes do look cool. I remember a spy shot of Matrix II(or whatever) where there was a car sliced clean in two. They said it was from a sword.

When's it due to hit the theatres, this summer? I think each LotR episode is suppose to follow a year after the last one - so the next ep is this coming Christmas, no? I am psyched for that. Even more psyched to get the DVD's when they arrive (one day).

Damn. That's a long time in the making. Better be at least 2.5 hrs for $12 a ticket I'm going to pay! Unreal how high movie ticket prices have gotten - especially during summer blockbuster season. I don't even pay attention anymore, because other than weekday matinees (which are still reasonable at most of the mega-plexes) I just expect it to be between $9 and $11 a shot....

Moogs...yer paying ALOT to see a movie...that's unless yer gullible enough to pay for that premium to see a movie opening night. That's stupid. I don't see any theatre around here that asks for 12 bills either. but I really don't see movies opening night or at the Mega Screen Zoo...

It's around $8.50 at the most (excluding the criminal payments for snacks and shit)...

    Hint: Matinee........

Up here in NY I like to go to Lowes or Sony theaters. They have those credit card machine ticket vendor dealies. You go up to one, buy 2 child tickets and walk up to the 16 year old pot-head ripping tickets at the entrance. He never even notices that they're children's tickets. (5 bucks each!)

Risky? Nah, just say you hit the wrong button.

Criminal? Possibly, but so is a $3 box of junior mints.

Jeeeez, I bring my own candy...

I have been to those Mega Movie places...Saw one movie and after that one went down the hall (nobody around...) and saw some of another movie. By then "Gone in Sixty Seconds" started in another and saw that one for free too....

you know, it's weird, i think i really would have like the Matrix, but the whole concept driving the entire movie was horribly flawed, and i spent most of the movie trying to figure out a way that it would be worthwhile to try and glean energy from human beings.

decided that it's a total waste of energy to try, and therefore the entire premise of the movie is shot. which kind of ruins the rest of the film.

    sorry all you matrix fans.

It's ok Alcimedes...you're mind is still clouded from the construct..we'll free you when we can

I hear they are filming the next two eps back to back so we shouldn't have a huge delay for the final ep in the Trilogy.

I am a fan of the Matrix because it appeals to adults. I was saddened to see the Terminator 2 show go PG13 and don't get me started on Star Wars(Ewoks? Jar Jar? ewwwwwwwwww)

Well if that gets you thinking, what about this one:

Whats up with babies in the matrix? They said new humans are "harvested" so if you're still "plugged in" and you and your partner have a kid, is it real? Do they just link you up with a new human harvested in the fields or does the woman actually give birth?

here's the thing that drove me nuts.

    why harvest at all?

no system gives you 100% or greater return on the energy put into it. so it has to take more energy to keep the humans alive than you can extract from them

so without a doubt, they would be losing energy with every human alive. they would have been better off to just kill them all off, and live off something else.

and raising more humans? that just sucks up more energy!!

every bit of energy you put into it returns less than what you started with. the longer it runs, the less you have to use! they should have all gone dead years before from energy drain.

unless someone picked up something in the movie that i'm missing.

They said something about using a form of fusion to create a reaction that allowed them to use the energy inherant in a human. They really did not explain it well though.

yeah, the fact that you can't make a lightsaber really ruined star wars for me.

lol, if the entire plot of star wars hinged on whether or not a light saber could possibly exist, then that might be close.

the whole point of the movie is that billions of people are imprisoned in this virtual reality to keep them happy, while machines harvest energy from their inert bodies.

the problem is that this is a complete waste of energy. there would be 0 reason to do this. if they have fusion, why the hell do they need people? the movie should have at least made up something along the lines of a unique form of energy people provide, or something to that extent.

people are equated to batteries in the movie, but there's nothing special about them. the machines would have been better off with just plain ol' fusion.

but i may have over thought this whole thing. i just like movies to have plausible plot lines, that's all.

I haven't done the thermodynamics on this, but I think that the idea was that humans could transform static energy (i.e., food) into heat energy. From that standpoint, we might just be good little "coppertops." We don't know the science behind the machines, either.

The swordplay aspect of the sequel, though, is kinda backward. Seems that if they could engineer all the weapons they wanted to have in the Matrix with them, they would pick something a bit more effective than edged weapons. Sure, we saw shooting in the last one, but if Neo can absorb bullets, then what's a sword, really?

If swords are important in this one, I'd say that they're probably fighting other humans outside of the Matrix. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise (maybe guns don't exist in the future, outside of the Matrix -- after all, the Neb's defenses were "nonlethal" energy pulses).

the matrix (virtual world) is probably segmented/fragmented, so it cant be just brought down all at once...

there are alot of fights left to go... alot of people to free... without the aid of life-support system outside a ship, is it safe even?

Just like the "BORG", You can destroy a ship or even a colony, but there are many many more... "resistance is futile"...

Are there more on other planets, did they terraform mars...?

I would say that Neo has alot of work left to do... and he is the only one with that type of power when in the matrix, Others still need to defend themselves and like I said the technoligy that supports the matrix is most likely not localized...

    IMO...
