My absolute favorite thing in this thread (and in all threads about this subject) is how those opposed cannot come up with a single reason (although they constantly cry "there are many!") why we shouldn't have gone in and certainly no alternatives.
It was months after the terrorist attacks before we took military action in Afghanistan. Of course, it was also years before we decided to help out against the Nazis, much to the dismay of 6 million German Jews. Thank God for our faithful opposition then, eh?
(And there was plenty of opposition from the left. Look at the official messages from the real leftist parties in the nation, Green, Socialist, etc...) Democrats aren't leftist, so maybe you're just confused.
