But they wouldn't bring it to market because they would lose money on it. Do you have any idea how many games don't make it to market because companies decide that it would cost too much and not sell enough, even though development is largely complete? Do you see game companies porting games to IBM POWER4 machines, high-end SGI workstations, etc etc? No. There is no money to be made so no game company will do it. Its a long way from an experimental port to a marketable game.
