I knw, why would someone even care what model Apple offers, as long as the model they want is available.

If you don't want the 3GS and instead opt to get the 4G, why would you even care if they are selling the 3GS? I like my MacBook Pro. Should that mean I hope they stop selling the MacBook?
I hope they continue to sell the 3Gs, and drop the without contract price.
Wow...an iPhone on T-Mobile. So you have an iPhone with limited features, no 3G access, and lousy coverage areas. Sounds like a great deal.
Sounds exactly like the AT&T deal in many regards, except for the lack of dropped calls and the price that reflects the service as opposed to double the price for the same lack of service.
Why is this so bad with obsolete iPhones? Are original iPhone users or 3G users really losing that much going to T-mobile? I don't have that ridiculously low rate but I do get 1000 minutes, unlimited text and data for $65 when $110 would buy me 900 minutes and unlimited text and data on AT&T. Opera Mini closes the gap pretty well for a $45 a month savings.
Any sensible post would be more along the lines of "$97 + $1,920 minimum contract."
Few people and few articles or editorials write it like that, excepting some occasional pedants.

That is nice, but there is a trade-off, you don't get 3G coverage, do you?

WalMart has been selling Apple products for several years now. If it weren't for these news reports, people that aren't WalMart customers probably wouldn't know WalMart was selling Apple products, so it's going to be the same difference in the end.

And selling an unlocked phone for a higher price is a non-starter. Almost no one is willing to pay $600 for a phone, even if there's a cost savings in the long run.
Apple did sell around million iPhones just like that. A million is a lot more than almost no one.
Maybe time to buy 3GS for $97 and then turn around and get out of contract before AT&T raises their fees and then jail break and use it on other network. Does that make sense?

And, it pretty much confirms that Mr. K's speculation in the previous thread was correct!
Oh maybe i read what he wrote incorrectly. I thought he speculated just the opposite.

199 32GB 4G
299 64GB 4G white/black
AI must be getting paid to promote the product.
