And to ALL THE APPLE HATERS UP IN HERE FOAMING AT THE MOUTH
AND DRINKING THE HATERADE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND ATTACK THE REAL ENEMY
AT&T those greedy bloodsuckers I can't wait until they lose EXCLUSIVITY
Umm. Won't people be jail breaking and unlocking for teeethering, then selling basicaly new and buying a new one? I could see how AT&T could terminate a AT&T phone but if it's unlocked can it be zapped based on imme. Surely it must or they wouldn't be coming out with this.
I have a strong suspecion this new phone is going to be for grown ups as in very tech, metal, high end, fast. No cheap plastic. Then againg the higher end MacBook pros always get dinger so easy.
Still seeing a trend of people dumping mbp and getting higher end iMac and ipad.
Could you show us where you are looking? I can't seem to find any evidence of it.
Anecdotally, I've noticed the same thing. Besides my personal window of interest in the device being lessened because I choose to use a 13" MBP and iPhone, I know of several people who has specifically held off on the recently released MBPs they had had been planning to buy for many months to wait for the next iMac update because they feel the iPhone+iPad+iMac is a much better spacing and financial take over the iPhone+iPad+MBP.
It's probably because of the concessions they had to make to get the iPhone (and iPad) to begin with so they stick it to the consumer to make up the difference. Well guess what AT&T: I don't care about your $325 ETF fee. Because of this, the high insurance and crappy network (I know it - I used to work there!).. I have NO PROBLEM GOING TO VERIZON. So if it's later in the year or next year that Verizon gets it, I'll just wait it out and then get the new iPhone then.

Way OT here but which brands can be unlocked and use a sim card? Just curios, really but metroPCS has like crazy pricing. Really. Just curios.

Oh you will really stick it too them! To avoid AT&T's $325 ETF you will go to Verizon and sign up for their $350 ETF! Brilliant thinking!

Did you bother to read his statement? For a trend to happen there has to be a physical action. Not anecdotal hearsay. Not one iota of evidence supports his contention, i.e., that people have been dumping or are dumping the MacBook Pro and replacing it with an iMac.
A trend in thinking? What the hell is that?
Interesting that all the reports to date suggests that as of two weeks ago, "…that [the]Mac momentum is strong helped by a recent significant refresh of the MacBook Pro to new Intel Arrandale processors, offering much better price-performance and an industry best 8 to 10 hours of battery life…”
Did you read my statement? I clearly stated, as the first word in my reply, that my comment was anecdotal. That should tell the reader that my comment is not necessarily true for everyone as it's because based on personal accounts.

How can you anecdotally notice that people are dumping (present tense) the Macbook Pro? And are getting (again present tense) [both] an iMac and an iPad [instead]?

Because they are telling me what they are planning to do for their next purchase. Hence, that is my personal account of what I have personally observed.
