What were you smoking this morning? Are you serious? AT&T is the best possible choice for heavy data users? You mean various plans depending on your usage with overage charges as you hit different tiers?

You must not live in a major metropolitan area and must share property with an AT&T tower to get those kinds of speeds. When I had the 3G for a year and the 3GS for a year in Chicago, never got close to any of those kinds of numbers. On Sprint, my speed (and monthly cost) is much better than when I was on AT&T. In addition, not having to worry about tiers of when I'll get charged more for my data usage.

I just stopped by the local AT & T store here in Winston-Salem and asked about the iPhone. Only 3 people in line - got my phone in 20 minutes.

Guess it pays to wait a few days.

I've taken a day off of work to do yard work or run a bunch of errands.

While I didn't get in line, that sounds like a helluva lot more fun if I had the vacation to burn this year.

I walked into a North Texas AT&T store at 9:15am and walked out at 9:30 with my iPhone 4. The only reason it took that long was waiting for Apple's sever to activate the phone.

Just wanted to say that the AT&T store in Jensen beach Florida had enough to go around. I walked in about 10am thinking they were completely sold out since there were no customers in the store and they had some left. I bought one as an upgrade, then I was asked if I wanted to replace my second line that wouldn't be out of contract for another year. I said I couldn't afford it because of the non-upgrade status and the sales clerk offered it to me for $199, so I grabbed it. Walked out with two iPhone 4's both at $199 each. In our area we get 5 bars everywhere, best place in the country for AT&T customers. Great phone btw, no issues at all so far. Ver happy camper here.

This funny video pretty much sums it up: An EVO 4G Salesman Confronts An iPhone 4 Shopper (NSFW)

There's a rebuttal video at TechCrunch now. This time an EVO user walks into an Apple store and asks the Genius to fix his phone. Not as funny as the original but it has the Android fanboys worked up.

I drove over to the local AT&T store this morning at 11:00 A.M. and they were sold out. Since I was going to the neighboring town that had a store, I asked if they had any before I left the first store. The customer service rep called over there and that store had enough for them to reserve me one. I drove over there and they had me in and out with a 32GB iPhone in about a hour.

The only issue is I am still waiting for my new iPhone to fully charge as the new phone has to be charged up.

I got home and since I took my old 3G 16GB iPhone and passed it on to my wife, she finally has got rid of that LG Shine that she hated so much. Pulled the SIM card out of the Shine and put it in the 3G and now she has a decent phone. I also added the $15.00 data plan on her phone but my wife rarely if ever uses internet on the phone.

The issues I have with Verizon and Sprint is the fact that we are in a dead spot where we live and AT&T has the tower a block away from my home on top of the hill I live on. So they are actually the only game in the area I live in.

Sorry but I am Apple all the way and have been for the last ten years, I have never had a issue with a Apple product, I can not say that about other companies I have dealt with. They have always done right by me.

Walked into the Buford, GA, AT&T store at 2:00. Was about 6th in line for a free rep, and I was looking for the 32 GB phone: that was what they had. Out within an hour with an activated phone.

When's this phone going to launch in Australia?

We are getting hammered with enquiries, all we have are 16GB 3GS's, the new 8GB has been released but we haven't had stock yet.

The 32GB 3GS and the 8GB 3G dried up weeks ago.

Apple are unbelievably good at managing stock, for example we have unsellable HTC Magics sitting alongside Nokia N97's which have been in our storeroom for over a year.

Oh man. Those two vids were funny. "... but its open.." mwahhhh

I was going to send a link to the video around and then I realised that few very people I know will even understand it, let alone find it funny.

It was at that sudden moment of comprehension that I knew I have reached geek status.

    *sigh*

Anyway I have no problem with Android phones. The fandroids do like their Spec Porn though...
