there is porn (like couples having sex and whatnot) then there is the 'other stuff' like bestiality, s&m, etc etc which kinda make me twitch.
The porn (like seeing couples have sex, pose, etc) is fine by me. I also believe its good for your sex life. Heck, I know it is. As long as you dont get depressed because you are trying to IMITATE whats going on, you'll be fine. Porn spices up a relationship, gives new ideas on sexuality, makes you curious about eachother's bodies, etc.
For those who have had sex for a while... do you remember your first time? I highly doubt you were doing anything very 'artisitic'. Just a missionary position or something to that effect. As we grew and gained experience, we (hopefully) also got more creative and experienced incredible and beautiful sensations. I would think, at least as is in my case, many of your new ideas and new sensations came from seeing a few pics or movies or whatnot. Take porn as a sort of 'instruction manual'. It teaches you to know your body much better and even control it better and understand your partner too. Just take it as an 'inspiration'.
Again, I am talking about pretty normal porn here... not the 'extreme' stuff.
Sex is only the most natural thing in the world and its a shame that we have to be so constrained about it.
Is there a difference between porn and erotica? Is an alluring picture of a nude female always porn or can it be sometimes be considered art instead. Can an image be both art and porn?

I think that yo missread my intentions in posting. I was taking the question as an oppurtunity to think about porn both good and bad aspects, its merely speculatin about the power of imagery.
MarkUK is absolutely right when he says that what I am describing can be said about almost any commercial magery as well . . . And I pretty much was aware of that whle writing my post . . . its just that the element of desire which is intrinsic to the power of imagery is so obviouse in pornography.
I also completely, and for the most part, agree with ZO that sex is completely healthy and porn can open you up to new experiences and pleasures.... which is good..... its just that the other things that I listed are true as well.
As for the south of France, sure I lived there for a little while, I'm half a French citizen by birth . . .
and yeah Larry Clark over Helmut Newton but even that hard bitten real stuff can be aestheticized as much as the airbrushing in Playboy. . . that was the whole point in my off the cuff analyses of the two examples of porn styles.
by the way, to re-it, that is what is so fascinating about porn, it involves such a variety of styles in a compressed form, compressed under the simple and clear directive of : get the viewer off, get them to pay or keep them involved! I sometimes wish contemporary art were so fascinatingly clear as well as rich in stylistic variety.
Porn only becomes ART when I shoot all over the page. Sadly Im reluctant to, all over my 19 incher these days

That one.

Do you consider Playboy? magazine to be porn?

Yeah, I don't see why it wouldn't be.

And that.
Thank you.
2) "superficial enough (to like porn)". Other than that, I can't make it any clearer than the original sentence.
"I'm too depressed to talk about basketball, I hate life."
"YEAH, JAZZ up in this bitch!"
"I don't want to talk about basketball."
Fruitcake.
Fruitcake? How are the guys in Austin groverat? I heard it's flaming down there.
