I can't stand the 3 apps in one idea, it was bad enough when they put notes in with the mail app, If i want mail I'll check my mail in a nice clean mail app, if i want to check calender I will open the calender app and so on, if you ask me the worst thing about Outlook is the cluttered interface you get from ramming 3 programs into one.
I agree that I'd want 3 separate programs. But what I don't understand is in this new version of Outlook, will you have your email, calendar and contacts all in one window? At work, we use Outlook 2007 and you can ACCESS all three from Outlook, but I can't find a way to VIEW all three in one window. I don't know why I'd want all that info on one screen anyway. My point however, is that if you have all 3 in one program, but still can only view one at a time, what is the difference between that and having 3 separate programs?
Who exactly is it that Microsoft thinks they are marketing to? Or, is it truly the case that no one over 25, and who won't be equally a turn-on to teenage girls and guys, is doing product development in the company?
I?m looking forward to it for Outlook for Mac. I am not a fan of having 3 separate apps for my mail, calendar and address book. I much prefer to have them all accessible within the Mail app from the sidebar.
I?m hoping Apple adds this to 10.7, after all they are already tied together in the OS and through MobileMe.

I realize it's the crack dealer sales ploy - but what the heck, I'm not getting away from Office any time soon so I might as well use it at home too!

Such a lackluster upgrade is one of the best things that's happened in years - for OpenOffice.
We're all free to have our own opinions, but you literally couldn't give me a port like OpenOffice for free.

I completely agree!
Now the important stuff: will it have VBA back. And hopefully it'll have .NET/C# ability as well for macros.
