Bah! They need to make a live action Transformers movie with modern CGI. That's all I ask for.

I'm not outraged, I just like the characters in these comic movies to look like ones in the book.

I'm not nuts about Affleck as Matt Murdock, either, but I'll forgive that when he swings out in the DD costume the first time.

I also wish the X-Men outfits were closer to the comics, the funny "yellow spandex" line not withstanding.

I wasn't making a point about race or even political correctness gone wrong. I guess I'm just a nerdy comic-book purist.

    Sigh...

No, most movies such as these now have actors sign contracts that if their are sequels and their character remains in the storyline they have to be in the sequel(s). The actors in Star Wars, Matrix, X-Men and Spider-Man have this.

Maybe Hollywood learned their lesson from Batman...whatever.

Seen the trailer. I'm not convinced yet. Daredevil's not coming out until 2003 anyway.

It's interesting that you would sigh at my idiocy for this when you yourself asked: "Why cast an african american actor, then re-cast the character with a white man in the sequal?" in response to my post that was entirely about Kingpin.

    *sigh*

Then you exasperatedly explain to me how actors have sequels written into their contracts after complaining about how Harvey Dent was handled in the Batman series?

Slow the outrage train down, nerd boy.

transformers would be awesome, but I am looking for Thundercats to come to the live screen. Now that would be sweet.

Derailed...derailed....I just don't have the energy sometimes to do the groverat idiot dance with you, man.

This is a thread about a ****ing comic book movie...don't make it your stance on how ****ing intelligent you think you are.

Apparently, you can cast movies (including so many other qualities...) so pack up and head to La La land...

What the hell are you talking about?

I'm not the one who started calling others idiots, I asked a simple question, it's not my fault you reacted like an outraged nerd.

Do you even know what you're talking about?

You're disappointed that Kingpin is black, I say it doesn't really matter. You have your opinion, I have mine, relax.

90% of comic book readers are male within the ages of 20-30 years old. And I would say from experience (I was in the comic book biz briefly) that almost half are African American. So it is in Hollywood's best interest to cast certain characters to get that audience.

It's odd that the most popular African American comic book character (Spawn) was created by a white comic book creator, Todd MacFarlain...

Again, all I was trying to point out is that Hollywood tended to be inconsitant with casting certain roles again in sequels in this genre. They seem to have learned their lesson. Hope you did too, sensitive prick.

So you're saying the casting of Duncan as Kingpin was a move to get blacks to watch the film? That makes no sense, seeing as you've already said that half of the comic book fans are black even though the characters in the book are white.

Spider-Man did pretty well without black players.

What white guy would play Kingpin? John Goodman? Duncan is perfect for this part, he's huge and he looks like he could kick your ass, what big white guy puts off that vibe?

And again, does it even matter? I'm not saying this in a "we've got to have just as many black actors as white actors", but it makes no sense at all to be pissy about his skin color. This isn't a fucking affirmative-action hire.

It's really funny... I really didn't start this...

I replied with what I believe would be the reasons for this. I feel the same way with finboy...why not be more faithful to the book? In some ways yes, maybe Kingpin should be white. He was white in the comic book for 40 years. But either through sheer stupidity (marketing) or just for creative purposes a black actor was chosen. I have no problem with this. I hope it works out. But I've witnessed many earlier comic book movies that were idiotic in their choices and conceptualization.

Face it groverat...you can be an a-hole sometimes. But I can deal with it...

I ask again: What white person could play Kingpin?

Interesting, because you said you did earlier and still act like you do. Hmmmm...

Am I the one who started calling people idiots and ("Oh, I've got the vapors!") sighing at questions?

It's not my fault you quote someone and then go off on a tangent and end up confusing the original poster because your reading comprehension skills take a nap.

You can call me an idiot if you want, that's fine, but don't expect me to not clarify the situation and throw a few back at you in response.

I can handle my being an ******* sometimes, but this isn't really an example of that and I can more than hold my own. Can you handle the consequences when you're an ******* yourself? I'm starting to doubt.

Screw Kingpins race! he could be black, white, blue, orange, green, red,purple,yellow...etc. for all I care....whats up with the green lantern being black in "justice league"!!! I mean COME ON!

     j/k

I'm not famliar with daredevil(never read the comic) but is this Kingpin the same that made appearances in Spider-mans universe? if they(they probably will) make a sequel to spiderman, they should include the kingpin for sure.

I'm looking forward for X-men II,when I left the theatre for x-men the first thing I thought was "damn! I can't wait till the sequel"
