Apple releases iOS 4.2 beta 2 and Xcode, iOS SDK 4.2 beta 2
Apple released to developers Tuesday a second set of betas for iOS and the iOS SDK.
Both iOS 4.2 beta 2 build number 8C5101c and Xcode and iOS SDK 4.2 beta 2 build 10M2409 are available from Apple's iOS Dev Center.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs first demoed iOS 4.2 on Sept. 1. The upcoming software update for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch is due out in November.
The first beta of iOS 4.2 was released several weeks ago, giving developers a hands-on look at dozens of new features coming to iOS. In a first look at the beta, AppleInsider covered a number of the new additions to iOS 4.2.
In particular, Wireless printing via AirPrint is one of the more highly anticipated features coming to iOS.
Users can also look forward to AirPlay, Apple's new wireless media streaming feature, in iOS 4.2. Come November, iOS will be able to stream media from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the Apple TV over Wi-Fi.
