Agreed; I've seen some really weird behaviour with my Wacom tablet - suddenly stop working but the problems were never present when I ran Mac OS X 10.5.8. From what it sounds like, when FreeBSD 5.x gradually removed the giant lock many bugs were uncovered as a result therefore I wonder to what degree are we seeing the same thing with Mac OS X - that there are bugs exposed which were once dormant or very intermittent when the kernel was more corse.
As for people going on about 'crashes' - how about differentiating between the whole operating system crashing (kernel panic) versus an application that crashes - because you sound as though the whole operating system is a buggy mess when in reality it has to do with the third party doing a crappy job with their software development.
Wacom Intuous 2 here - no issues - are you sure you're running the latest version of the drivers from Wacom's web site?
Thanks for the props, glad gfxCardStatus is that useful to you! I actually just submitted my resume to Apple a couple days ago so we'll see what happens.

Cody Krieger! Folks, this is the gfxCardStatus the developer. Sir, thank you, thank you, thank you. Tens of thousands of MBP/MB '10 owners around the world have been helped by you. I submitted a Feedback a while back suggesting they extend you an offer for your code and expertise, believe it or not. Good luck and keep us posted! You deserve a welcome here like that "rock star" programmer guy in those Intel commercials.

No problem! Thanks for submitting the feedback - maybe they'll take your advice.
you need a full featured OS with a large monitor in order to develop iOS apps and HTML5 web code
No you don't. That said, iOS is full featured and nothing is stopping anyone from porting it to a larger screen. Which with the recent touch screen Mac rumours, is obviously what Apple is building up to.
I think to you this is more about traditional input devices and traditional views of an OS instead of OS capacity. iOS is OS X with a modern UI. At first Apple boiled the code down to the most basic functions and have been slowly rebuilding them into iOS with every new (and larger) device they make that runs it. This has been coming for a long time now, and I've seen articles from half a decade back wondering why Apple hasn't started doing some of these things (no folder hierarchy, automatic data organisation) in OS X already. I've been wondering the same thing.
I think in Job's mind OS X has already reached end of life, along with the classic idea of a desktop OS. He didn't invent the mouse, but he pioneered it and made it work when no one believed in it, and is now pioneering touch interfaces. Unlike other companies that perhaps started at the wrong end of the spectrum, he's actually making it work in the real world.
There are people that still use only a keyboard to interact with their computers and that's ok. There are people that still swear by command line and that is also okay. There will soon be people that swear by a mouse and an OS that uses a "desktop" and "folders" and that will be okay too. The rest of the world will have moved on to the next logical way to use their technology.
It worries me that there's mention of fixing SL on a Windows domain. Ok it's ONLY business scenario's that fit that model but Leopard is fine. I love SL at home or in an Apple environment but logged in through a Windows Domain (when you can log it in) or attaching to Domain shares, is infuriating.

I guess they have to hold something back for 10.7...

You sir, are a steely eyed rocket man. (Gazes fondly at the lovely n in my menu bar).
My heartfelt thanks and great to see you on the boards, if only to receive a few well deserved accolades.
One can dream.

Well said. Jobs seems to think we are all consumers. Unfortunately I am a creator, who doesn't care about iDevices.
What issue? Looks fine here on 10.6.4. In fact I can't ever remember it not looking fine...
Sigh.
In Finder.....go to the menu...click on one of the entries...scroll all the way right until you hit the Help menu. See the difference???
TRIM. Where is TRIM support? Where? When?
I guess they have to hold something back for 10.7...
Properly designed SSD should not have a need for a TRIM like command.
